Report a phone call from 02-8014-7459 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- abby replies to Andrewguys this guys r based in kolkata,INDIA......they do nt have any legal documents to do business.......they r just scam......
- abbyPeople be aware that EVENTVWR or "eventvwr" is a command given to windows to open windows log files......this are NOT malacious files....the errors and warnings there are simply the log files for the application error logs which helps the technicians to know the reason of the problem...........
- RichardComplete scam. Very limited technical understanding other than reporting to you "computer problems" then out of nowhere they can solve problems that don't exist. $389 to solve computer problems ? Very aggressive so just say you won't pay and listen to how agitated they get.

- NielJust received a call from an Indian chap calling himself Ron Williams. When asked gave his number as 028014759. Same story as a lot of other people, was told that my PC is infected etc etc. Would not say how he knew my PC was infected, just that his Data Research Dep told him. Eventually got rid of him by telling him my number is lidted on the no call register, which it is.

- JOHi, I just had this caller who gave me the name Tech 12 Home and the tel no. Indian origin, could hardly understand the caller. He assured me there was no selling involved and asked me to check event viewer and discussed the error/warnings.
They told me they were working closely with Microsoft and are the only tech support company working in collaboration with Microsoft to offer the service. They wouldn't tell me how they knoew what was on my PC just said they'd sent numerous warnings to me?? - FeibeeA call I received earlier this evening matches most of the details others have mentioned.
The call started very amateurishly, as I never give my name when I answer, and also we are on the "do not ring" register.
I voiced my serious doubts to the man calling from India, after he gave me his speil about Microsoft having referred them, and was fobbed off with fast incomprehensible patter. Even when I said that I use up to date antivirus software and antimalware and have fixed my families computers for over twelve years, and that the sirname and address they were calling me was the one used only in the phonebook for our landline. It is not mine or the one I use to register software, warrantees etc., I was told a lot more fearsome "facts" which didn't make any tech. sense, then directed click by click to open the administrative events log. I heard melodramatic noises when reporting the number of yellow triangles etc. as he'd asked. I could clearly see what they really were, but was told not to click on or even hover over them...When I refused to go any further with his next intructions with "LogMeIn", I was "handed over" to his superior. She too had innacurate explanations, and answered her own rhetorical questions with a "yes", then I was directed (as if to a beginner), to observe what was going on with what I know to be my CPU.She said it should be running at 75% or higher. As I had only one browser window minimised in my tray, and the display was happily showing 1 to 2% I accused the "More senior technician"/Indian woman who said her name was Hersh Smith- of being a scammer, and managed to finish then hang up politely, even though by then I was extremely annoyed.- Caller: Tech4Help

- Greg replies to JennyHi, before doing anything else on your computer, go to Microsoft and download and install this malware removal tool:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/mali ... ol-details.aspx
Or Google "download microsoft malware removal tool" and download it from Microsoft … make sure it has www.microsoft.com in the address (at least) … that way you know it's from Microsoft … after you install it do a full scan … it will detect malware that they could of installed when you let them initially … don't worry we all fall for these sorts of things … you gut was right! ;)
