We received the same fax today from Jennifer Collins.   Thought we would look into it a bit more as it seemed strange that they said nominated but didnt seem to know our name.   Glad we googled as it appears to be a definite scam.

I also received a fax stating our company had been selected to be included in 2009/2010 magazine, this time the lady's name of the bottom of the fax was Jennifer Collins.  No ABN etc.  Please be aware.  Possible Scam!!!!!

Got a fax claiming to be from Office of Public Affairs regarding entry in Who's Who in Australia;
requests details to be faxed to them so i can be entered into the Who's Who. meant to fax back to 02 80786030.
complete sham.  Who's Who do not do things this way: if it seems too good to be true, it generally is.  So don't touch it.  I am thinking of ditching our fax these days because there are so many rubbish faxes coming through.
Who's Who have said it is a sham originating they think from overseas.

Received fax same as all above - no id area's on it though - says to fill out and FAX TO 02 8078 6030 - says it is from Office of Public Affairs

Yeah its a scam and i had given them my visa number duh..i had to cancel my card before transaction went through.

well its time to trace back to the fax number and person who is actually receiving those faxes and may be a quick wisit to the person after hours would do some good...lol So who ever you are, you know you have not a peaceful moment from now on, we gonna have a nice [***] chat...and you well...be affraid be very affraid you [***] with the wrong guy...:)

Thanks all for confirming my suspicion this was a hoax.  I see on an American blog with the same scam they suspect that they ask you to pay for your listing - that's how they scam money from you.  And its such a professional fax to fool people - not.  I wonder if the whole magazine is done on a standard word format?

Just received the same fax stating from Office of Public Affairs and signed Jennifer Collins. All the rest the same.  Ph: 02 8078 6030 Office of Public Affairs seems to be part of ATSIC.

What a load of jibbering rubbish and completely made up.
It doesn't even ask for credti card details so that's crazy to be giving that out!

Yep.. i got a fax earlier today also, and am located in Perth.

Obvious scam because, among other things, it mentions my candidacy was approved. Considering I never applied for anything, this is just bizarre.
Would love to know where to report it.

Just got the same fax. Its from a Jennifer Collins Editor asking me to fax back to 02 8078 6030 ..... (However Fax ID is 02 7382 7935 at top of page)

Yes I was sceptical when I received this fax.  I'm glad I read these posts as they confirmed my suspicions. I am assuming they might collect personal details this way and then provide them to marketing companies for a fee?

Lucky I googled it and found these postings. I knew it was suspicious.
