It is Citibank,   but  you are best not to divulge information to the operator,  but rather name the call to their Citibank  Group Security Team in Sydney on 1300 550 216

Missed/ignored the call several times over the last several weeks thinking it was a dodgy caller or telemarketing. The last call I got from this number was midday on Saturday. I finally decided to ring Citibank via their security number 1300 550 216 after they left a message saying they had blocked my credit card for security purposes, and found out they were ringing me to question some unauthorised internet transactions done via my credit card. I confirmed 2 fraudulent transactions and they cancelled and reissued me a new card.

Citibank for my boss. hhhmmmmm   Get so worried about scams and we get sooo sooo SOOO many cold callers that I had to sus this call out a bit first.   it had that cold caller centre sound in the back ground

Turns out it was a legit call for us.  Lady was professional and her accent was very understandable. (in fact, it was a very nice voice)  The boss was glad they called to fix a problem.

Thanks Citibank for good service. I can honestly say, I have never been cold called from them before.

I am currently overseas and this number keeps calling my mobile. I have not answered as I don't want to charges associated with a long distance call. No message has ever been left. I am not with Citibank or Suncorp.

This is just one of the many VOIP virtual cheap Indian phone numbers Citibank off shore call centres use to make it look like it is coming from Australia. They will break the ACCC guidelines for collections contacts per week as these Monkeys don't even know what the ACCC is. Get the Mr Number app and add this number to BLOCK. It will likely be a call centre monkey using a pathetic script if you are one dollar or one day late with your payment. Write to Citibank and demand all communication be in writing.

This is a genuine Citibank number, but don't call it back.
Call the customer service number on the back of your credit card instead, and they'll be able to follow up on the call.
In my experience the original call from 0282250000 can be Citibank security checking on a transaction. If you don't answer they may block your card as a precaution, but this can be easily unblocked by calling the customer service number.

The person calling me was from Diner's Club Security informing me that I had a whole list of fraudulent charges on my card [over $3,000 in 3 weeks]. The call seemed very legitimate to me - they credited my account back with the amount of the fraudulent charges as well as cancelled and blocked the card and resent me a new one along with a pin.

They called me on my mobile from this number (I didn't answer), left a couple of voicemail messages and then called me from the same number again on my work phone. This I picked up and I'm glad I did. I have no idea how they would have accessed my work number - however as it is a work expense card this was what made me think it was a legitimate call. They also verified my card number, home address as well as middle name etc so all looks in order to me.

Received mobile and home phone calls from this number which I did not answer. Rang Citibank Security who stated call was not from Citibank and should be ignored.
