EON customer service trying to get me to have a smart meter

Harassing call from EON, trying to persuade people to install a so called Smart meter.

This number keeps ringing

EON trying to get me to have a smart meter installed. Told them I wasn't interested & the caller rang off.

Five phone calls in two days

This caller claiming to be EON wanted me to book an appointment for an engineer to call. Very convincing, but I said I would contact EON myself, she said that's fine and call back on this number and wanted to give me a phone number..... No way, I said I'd contact EON myself and she hung up. Very convincing!!!! Don't give any details, pure fraudsters.......

I had one yesterday. I looked on my EOn account and could see no problem with my smart meter readings. They asked about address - which is public domain so no worries there - and asked for three days I would be able to receive an engineer in the next week or so. they said someone else would phone to give me a time on one of those days. they asked questions about height of meter off ground, etc in the usual way EOn do and about parking. I wasn't too sure but it was very convincing and they even asked me to think of a password they could use for the engineer when they arrived. That doesn't actually assure anything - if it's a scam we all have that password now! I can't see where this might be going as a scam - they only have info that is in public domain and no questions about payment etc.MAybe that is yet to come. If I can't confirm from EOn I'll block the number.

trying to get me to have smart meter fitted eon already tried as i live on 4th floor and meter is on basement level eon said theres no point it wont work.keep getting harassed by calls from 02922229992 they wont give up

Pure phishing scam. I received an unsolicited call from this number. Very convincing chap asked me if I wanted to install a smart meter, I confirmed I was interested. He then wanted to read out some terms and conditions but just confirm my details before. I said I would not give him my details over the phone as he called me. He then said no problem I can confirm your details back to you, he read out my street name, I stupidly confirmed with yes than he hung up. Definitely a scam, assuming they would want to confirm personal information of people to use this in bank frauds.

Getting repeated calls from this number and they clear down as soon as my answer machine cuts in.
Appears to be a scam on E-ON Next.

Claims to be calling on behalf of E-ON Next and trying to persuade meto have a so called smart meter. Interesting, in that I followed E-ON Nexts' process and registered with them 3 months ago that I will not accept a smart meter untill they are compulsory under UK Law. So, it can only be a SCAM
