I have missed calls from this number every day for at least a week now. a couple of times I have answered the calls but it hangs up.
I'm a westpac customer too............

Yep been happening to me constantly.... goddamn i guess someone sold the IPND to a telemarking company again.

They're back! I had a missed call from them (luckily just one, about 4 days ago). Call them back, and it goes to a voicemail saying they are a marketing company, and that someone will be calling me back in a few days.

Got a missed call from this number today. Ive read the previous comments about westpac and pinpoint marketing re bank insurance. This is not a scam trying to steal money. Its pretty basic really... Westpac sent me some advertising rubbish about insurance a couple of weeks ago, westpac than employ a telemarketing company (in this case Pinpoint) to call its customers who they sent this advertising to follow up and attempt to get you to purchase insurance with westpac. Its not illegal or anything like that.
The hang up calls im guessing are just the telemarketers on the other end hanging up so they can get through the number of calls they have to make within an hour. They would have spoken to many more who dont bother to post to this site. They arent trying to prank you, they are just trying to reach their number of calls per hour targets. Its not right but it happens. I know this because many years ago I worked for Pinpoint marketing. If it really pisses you off, contact Westpac and have a go at them, they are to blame.

I received a miss call from this number last night ( I'm in Melbourne) and lucky I checked this website today before I decide to give them a call back. I also received some insurance advertising material from westpac last week.

I receive calls from this number every day and I ignore them, but it is a bloody nuisance.  I have twice answered the calls, but as everybody else know, they just hang up.  Surely some regulatory agency in Australia should intervene and cancel this caller's phone account?

Got a call from this number claiming to sell ANZ life insurance. Sadly they already had my name, address and mobile number. I told them I already have life insurance and they started reading typical telemarketing crap so I hung up.

Unsolicited calls from people trying to sell life insurance - calls between 2-3pm - hang up and don't leave message - very annoying

Got a call from this number today for the first time.  Answered and was hung up on by the machine.  Not sure who it was but we bank with ANZ and have had numerous life insurance mailouts from them over the past few months.

I've been getting at least one call a day from this number for the past few weeks.  Like all of the other posts, they hang up as soon as I say hello.  Next time i'll try being silent and see if the communicate.  I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person being harrassed by them - not that it makes it less frustrating....  So far no calls outside of office hours (touch wood)

Everyone seems to know about this caller and their habits. I'm no different. They call several times a week but never answer. I haven't the faintest idea who they are. If I answer, I now don't make a sound. Most calls are around 1830 hrs.

I got a call from this number, "Hello, can I speak to Mr [my first and last name]?" I said that was me and the said "Hello? as if they couldn't hear me an soon hung up.

Got a second call from the number today - didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message.

One again - that makes three :) Picked up this time and was immediately hung up on.

And again. Picked up immediately and had already been hung up on.

Had a call from Josh who enquired if I had recieved some insurance documents from ANZ (seems like Westpac is no longer flavour of the month) when I said no he asked for my email address so he could "resend" them. He of couse didn't get it but I believe he may have been fishing for more than an email address - beware

Had a few missed calls from this number as well, never answered.... will update if I do decide too.

had a call from this number calld it back and spoke to an opterator who claimed they were in association with anz and their company was called One Path located in Sydney. i told them in a not so nice way to remove my number from any calling lists. Very dogdy indeed, will be calling ANZ to find out if they have any ties with such company
