Guy just called me from that number and said he was from Vodacom. He couldn't give me any details, new that I had just upgraded my cellphone contract and I put the phone down...

I've received two missed calls from this number today, and I have no idea who it is, so I googled it. Is there really no way to make it stop? I hate it that our numbers just get handed over to miscellaneous companies without our consent and wasn't the consumer protection act supposed to also limit telemarketer activity?

I've been getting 2 - 4 calls per day.  When I pick up, the call is dropped.  When you dial back - no tone.

We just phoned our service provider and they refuse to help us in regard to these crank calls.  The lady on the other side said that they cannot track the incoming calls and that the company (or no one in it) doesn't have the power or the ability to block the number.  She said that if they block something, they'll have to block all incoming calls.
After 10 minutes of explaining and repeating the problem, they put us through to another person who seems to be more understanding and willing to help.  He has taken down the problem numbers and promised to investigate...eish

Same problem, same number, up to 7 dropped calls per day. How many of you recently contacted OUTsurance for a quote? My problems started after I was stupid enough to do that.FNB funeral plans, refused the offer, since then been receiving dropped calls.

Same here.  Phone rings, but I never get the chance to answer.  If I do there is just silence on the other side of the line.  I refuse to call back though...

I have received numerous miss calls from 031 940 3020, 031 001 1004 and a private number today. I picked up once and the line went dead. Can we please stop this?

I got a call from this number. I spoke to a Melanie who wanted to assist me with me getting a contract with Vodacom. She was harrassing me to get my banking details to "Credit vet" me to see if I qualify for a contract....

Received a call from the number only for the person to ask on whether l bank with fnb. Wen l asked on wat was the motif he hung up on me.

From Friday 13 January I have been receiving calls from 0319403020 and when I answer the person hangs up. Received another on Saturday and the same thing. I tried calling and the line is engaged. Then received a call today , I did not answer.

All calls, except the last, hung up either before or seconds after I answered, with one having call-centre-like background noise before hanging up.

The final call, the one from the Johannesburg (011) number, did not hang up. The speaker identified herself, and told me she was with The Rewards Company in partnership with Edgars. In short, they tried to sell me a funeral plan.

I declined the offer, and requested that The Rewards Company not contact me again. I explained that the calls bordered on harassment, and she apologised for that and confirmed that outgoing calls are dialed by machine, and are automatically hung up if not answered within 3 rings. She also confirmed that she was calling from Durban (031), but that the call was being routed via Johannesburg.

After completing that call, I contacted Edgars and updated my account to disallow all marketing.

Goodness me, my mother got a call from this number 3 times today and the lady who spoke to her was rude and abrupt - called from Vodacom for a contract phone. Seems as if they don't take a no for an answer and will like to know how the hell did they get her number and what is Vodacom doing about this whole thing cause their harrassing people. Tried calling the number back but all the time i get called failed prompt
