I keep getcalls from this number by no  message left.

They recon they are from British Gas but they did not know my safe word

Something about smart meters,   Asian woman talked so fast I could not understand her.

Claimed to be from British Gas wanting to talk about SMART meters

this is a call from agents of british gas about smart meters ive spoken to them before and told them not to call and that the number they rang is an emergency line that needs to b kept clear. since GDPR came in theyre not allowed go harrass people so im reporting them. cos im sick of these calls. theyre changing their approach now rather than asking if im interested in a smart meter they phone and say “we MUST arrange a time to change your meters to smart meters.” nevermind that they wont b compulsory for a couple more years nor that my solar panels mean im not allowed them or that i hsve no authority from the landlord to make duch a change. DONT GET SMART METERS PEOPLE. Your bill will go up and theyre main function now is to spy on your energy use. you dont even wanna know the long term plans are for these meters.

SMART METER HARRASSEMENT.

Thought id managed to block this number but no all the block does is let it ring silently and go to voicemail. Theyre calling daily now. Totally in breach of GDPR. the message that got saved to voicemail was quite amusing there was a bunch of asian ladies arguing and shouting and screaming at each other in presumably their native language.

Really professional british gas.

Called and left a message said British Gas and if I didn’t want marketing calls to call back.  Yes of course I’m going to do that!,,,

Second call in 2 days. Said they were British Gas(an Asian lady). I told them I was not interested. She said "what do you mean". I replied,"if you do not know what that means I am putting the Phone down". Something about Smart Meters. I thought cold calling was illegal now.

Got a call from this number. British Gas and Asian woman saying  my meters were old and needed changing. Told her my meters were changed couple of years ago. She insisted they still needed changing and to gather the info they needed. Eventually admitted when I asked outright that they would be smart meters. Hung up on me when I said no chance.

This number called claiming to be British Gas to make an appointment to fit a smart meter. I told them I didn't want one. They then said everyone is getting one "because of the covid-19" so obviously a scam, so I got very angry at which point the hung up. I suspect they are one of these firms that transfers people's accounts to an expensive supplier and they get paid for every transfer they achieve.

Call this afternnon - male, South African accent. Said he was from British Gas and wanted to arrange an appointment to replace my old meter with a smart meter. Told politely, not interested, but he asked more questions, to which polite answers were gien. Then he said okay and finished the call.

Like others our gas meter was replaced a couple of years ago and the fitter did say that as it was on an outside wall with no electrical point nearby, then a smart meter could not be fitted. I also undretsand that unless you are dual fuel, the smart meters aren't much use.

We will see if there is any follow up.

Calls from this number received every couple of days on the answer phone but no messages left.

someone called three times over the past two days from this number..............regarding  either fitting a smart meter and when I would like it fitted or said they were from British gas whereupon I put the phone down.

No idea keeps ringing blocked now

Just had a call from this number, silent but after half a minute or so it hung up. At least I know what to expect when they, which I am sure they will, ring again. Thank goodness for websites like this.

Yep had one or two, but since my phone itself tags the number as suspected spam, I don't answer these. but look them up here to check that my secret benefactor hasn't left me their millions - as if!

Had a silent phone call with fast ticking noise heard in background. I waited a while to see what would happen then I put my phone down. I picked up again and the line was dead. I put the phone down and tried again. After a few seconds the dial tone started up again Odd.

Call from Asian sounding lady with badly broken English and spoke that fast could hardly tell what she was saying.  Eventually managed to understand she was saying my meters needed changing but didn’t specify which.  Said I didn’t want one and I just hung up.  She knew my name though and landline number.

Identical call to the one above from SuzieH. I just started to say no thanks and she just put the phone down. If this IS British Gas, they need to retrain these cold callers. The manners are appalling.
Bu t it sounds like an I didn't call centre.   Reflects poorly on British Gas.

I was always curious about these calls, but just did think it was an overseas call centre.  Thank you for confirming my suspicions!
