I have been getting calls from this number. Got a statement asking for £36.78. I am not sure what it is for.

I have had calls but revived a bill in from a company  called NEW but half the logo was cut in half looked as if been photo copied .Saying owed them £25.06 missed payment could i ring giving debit card details to pay outstanding bill and could i set up standing order  up over phone so money could be taken out .ive never had credit in my life and I have not got a clue who this company is

Just posted its called NEW day Ltd  so how come no one contact them and sending letters to me that has no debt at all

It may appear that New Day ltd (or N3) are a trustworthy company and legitimate. IT IS NOT. If they say you owe money to Amazon or House of Frazer or Debenhams or any other company - ignore phone calls or letters, emails from this company.  RUNG UP THE COMPANY THEY SAY THEY REPRESENT  yourself and find out if there is any problem with your card. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE

NewDay Ltd and NewDay UK Ltd  and Ne3 (and many other companies often registered at the same address may well be genuine registered companies. HOWEVER  the name NewDay Ltd and other versions of the name are being fraudulently used by criminal parties to obtain money for non-existent depts. They even have fake websites that quote the address of genuine companies sometimes quoting or mis-quoting the registration numbers.  Scammers using these names and others ARE NOT LEGITIMATE.         When they say you owe money to Amazon or House of Frazer or Debenhams or any other company - ignore their phone calls,  letters or emails.  Remember because the company is genuine does not mean that the person you are talking to is. When in doubt  RING UP THE COMPANY THEY SAY THEY REPRESENT  (don’t use any number they give you) and find out FOR YOURSELF if there is any problem with your card etc. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE

Yesterday I received a recorded message asking me to call back this number, mentioning Debenhams, but I couldn't understand the context. I do not return calls from unknown numbers and have not purchased anything from Debenhams for years anyway but I wondered what sort of scam this might be. Now I know thank you to the Don't be fooled comment.

Crap. I’ve been paying this company for a couple of months. They said I had debt outstanding with AO but I was almost certain that I had paid AO off completely. I even had a statement from AO stating as much! Thankfully the transaction has now been cancelled. They won’t be getting a penny more out of me.
