This number is really from Optus. They are a legitimate company

Optus is a great company. The offer is a very good deal. Tab + Ace + $70 worth of calls + 2GB + Unli social networking sites????? c'mon. where can you find such amazing offer???

The company is legitimate. They are contracted by Optus to do telemarketing for them.

got the iPad and the iPhone from them. so far so good, I guess that makes them legit?

this damn number called me just now.
Yesterday a woman  with indian accent called me saying that I could get an free IPAD from optus and my cellphone was out of power.
I think this number should be from that woman's company

third day in a row i missed the call from this number - today i answered but i didnt say anything and they hung up - i called back and got a voice automated message but nothing explaining who they are.

Calling constantly, really annoying!

Had a call on my (non-Optus) mobile from this number, some spiv claiming to be from Optus. I cut him off before he could get into his sales pitch, asked if he'd ever heard of the Do Not Call Register, and hung up.

I got a response from Optus regarding this number: they said that it IS legit, it's a third-party but they ARE reselling on behalf of Optus. If you don't want to get called by them, add your number to the Do Not Call register at www.donotcall.gov.au and they should respect that.

I am receiving calls from this number as well but when I answer they hang up.

I got a call from the same number...very dodgy....last thing they ask is for the DOB....dont fall into their tricks...

Got a phone call last week about "no contract" plans for ipad 4. Said they were from Optus, knew my details but then nothing. Phone number "not in service" when call back. Will be reporting this scam to feds. Hope they catch the [***] and string them up by the balls.

Just rang the number to be told that they were Optus. I asked why they were ringing me - they told me it was offer me a 25% discount on bundled services. I told them I wasn't interested in to remove me from their call register. Interestinly I had also been recieving calls from 03 9908 2726. I rang this number after I hung up from the call to 03 8199 8010 and it was answered by exactly the same person. He has assured my I am no longer on their contact list.

A complete scam claim to be affiliated to Optus which is not true. Trying to b* you with a bundled deal of an ipad/ Ssamsung tablet which Optus doesn’t even offer. When I pointed out that this was a work phone the caller kept complaining they couldn’t understand me. If you are going to try and scam/con me at least hire someone who can speak and understand English. Very frustrating. Don’t answer this call complete and utter scam.

Scam and con spoke to Optus today and they confirmed that this company has nothing to do with them. A complete scam do not answer these calls.

Today at 4:58pm, I received a "cold" call from "Optus" wanting me to change my Optus pre-paid mobile from $30 per six months, to $20 plan per month, claiming more data etc.

Hello! How is $20 per month better than $30 per ½ year??? Especially when I only use my mobile in emergency, maybe once or twice per year?!

I phoned Optus, and was told it is probably a hoax.

I found out by calling back on (03) 8199 8010 that it's "CARRIER TELECOMS", an authorised dealer of Optus. However, the website is under construction.

I then phoned Optus for the second time, with the above details, and they confirmed that "Carrier Telecoms", based in South Melbourne, ARE indeed an authorised dealer of Optus.

As we are on the Do-Not-Call-Register, Optus can call me, as I am an Optus customer. However, I am not a customer of so-called authorised dealers, in this instance, "Carrier Telecoms", and thus should not be cold calling me.

This will be reported to the Do-Not-Call-Register (ACMA).
