I too have received a few calls from this number.  I spoke to someone at Telstra (my home phone supplier) and she said if there are nuisance calls repeatedly from the same number you can ring Telstra on 1800 805 996.  This number is for the "National unwelcome calls" centre.  Apparently they then deal with it.  I'm not sure if they can in the case of market research but if these calls continually ring you then hang up, etc, then I'm pretty sure they (Telstra) can, and will, deal with that.
