got a txt from this number today after posting my car on gumtree, I replayed then a email saying.

"Thanks for getting back to me on this.I'm seriously interested in this posted AD and i will really love to purchase it right away. Kindly put off the ad right away and consider me as your favorite buyer.I'm buying it for my holiday,i am marine engineer and am on a ship right now,i won't be able to come for the inspection due to my work basis...,I will need this following details so i can proceed with the payment right away.

I almost thought it was true,but i checked my email box,NOTHING!!!

Got an SMS in the evening.  They got the sound of my name right with an alternative spelling.  
Asking me to call RT Edwards on a 1300 number urgently in regards to a ref number.

Just got a message from this - regarding a smartmeter appointment from Powercor. In this case the call was legit but i have reported the service they are using to send the messages as suspect, based on the above messages with regards to the tradingpost etc scams

I got the same txt, when I called to energy company , they told me I have to pay $800 !!
Should I ignore them ?

Got a msg from this number this morning but after calling the electricity company found out they didn't even have my number on record and all bills were up to date (account is in my house mates name) had me worried for a bit.

Checked my accounts on a different device and nothing has been taken out. Thanks to all who posted here, i won't be replying. Not sure how/what but defs a scam of some sort.

Just had a thought, i had a number sms'd to my phone today from the yellow pages website- could be related? Anyone else do this also?

I got a called this afternoon saying my EnergyAustralia account is overdue. I found it strange since they have changed to Ausgrid but when I search the number it gives me to ring in order to make a credit card payment. The number was 1300653343 and is actually an official  Ausgrid number. Weird considering this mobile number is still being used 5+ years later.

This number that you are receiving messages from should be ignored, although it may contain some real information such as numbers for companies such as ISP's or electricity commissions. I DEFINITELY would NOT hand over and details or go about any financial transactions when responding to messages from this mobile number.

I got a message off this number this morning saying it was the fair work ombudsman wanting to know if they could give out my details so someone could call me regarding the industry i work in, or reply "NO" and MY NAME to the number.

I havent done anything,

Got a message from this number that read:

"Reminder- Your EnergyAustralia account is over due. To pay by credit card call 1300653343. Please pay immediately or contact us on 131502. Thank you."

But I don't even have an account with Energy Australia.

"WINNER! You have been awarded 780,000 Pounds in the UK Apple Draw. Send name, mobile number, address to appledraws@icloud.com"
No way. SCAM!  They are using this number for a variety of scams.
