Some lady called my house in AKL from 0508222004 on 17May and had left message with a ref #  forus to call back. They even had my spouse name . Is this against privacy act and can we report it to the right authority in NZ to check on them ..

Txt message on 0274 cell number - to call INSHAF on this number, with a reference number that looks like a generic visa/mastercard number....

I got a call from a 09 number in AKLD and then a text sent to my phone saying to call LAGI and quote reference number blah blah blah blah blah..  Is this a scam?

no, its a debt colleting agency... they send it out to persons they are trying to locate. Lagi is the name to indercate that someone is responding to a text message that was sent from 021 bla bla 333

OMG,,we got the same message,,,actually i arrived home this evening and got a message on my homefone voicemail,,,and yeah the name Lagi leave a message and says to call back,,,but since your put this up,,,now i have a picture of how the hell is this lagi lol,,ok thanks for sharing,,,surely this is a spam...cheers.

Got a text to ring Chloe on 0508 222004 about an unpaid bill with a reference number.
South african sounding female dodged all our questions about who she was representing....babbled some privacy act mutterings.
0508 is a nz toll free number.....
somebody must be paying for that?
Who.....?

I also just got a message via txt about some debt with a reference number from CHLOE at 0508.. the txt message came from the same txt service as NZBlood donations.. this sounds dodgy to me and could very well be a scam

Yes, I hope NZ blood service is not having to pay for this scam, because they are not funded by govt :-(

Just Got a text today

Called me and left a message to call them back with a reference number ... has to be a scammer ... have got heaps of these since Covid as you are forced to leave your phone numbers everywhere under the rouge of safety but our numbers are sold off to all these scammers by private businesses and government agencies!
