suspicious chq received in bankers draft, looks fake anyone else had dealings with this

Wasn't an actual call from this number but it was listed at the bottom of a dodgy email touting to buy my Car with a bankers draft. Judging by the apparent lack of coherent english I'm guessing it was from someone in Nigeria or the like. When I searched the number on google I found this website so would concur this is suspicious and probably part of a scam setup i.e. premium rate if you ring it.

i had emails from the person with this phone number wanting to buy my car, i rang the number and it was very hard to understand him. he said his name was samual peters, he kept saying he will send a bankers draft to me which never turned up. i googled his number and this page came up. so i would imagine its a big scam they have going on!!!

recieved a email this morning with this number on wanting to buy our car as advertised on a website... wanting to send a bankers draft for the purchase of the car saying that they live in ireland also wanting to overpay to stop me selling to anyone else.... i think not

I will also want you to know I will be paying you with a banker's draft, the amount on this draft will be more than the price of your car [overpayment].

The name you give will be the name you will see on the cheque and it will be sent to the address you mail to me. Your phone number is for time to time contact.

Also if any buyer contact you about this particular car, please tell them it's already been sold cause am ready to make payment as soon as I get the whole details needed from you.

Assistance, But his not in the position to cash a cheque or a banker's

I had the very same email. but from ANDERSON CARRICK
I also got another from someone saying they wanted more information and they were buying it for their daughter, i replied with more info on my car and got an almost word for word reply....i have reported them all to the website i was selling on.

I got the same email however there was no number just the name Andrew simon apparently he is from Dublin Ireland. I doubt he is actually from Ireland but wanted to put as much detail in for any one who searches the net to check if it is a scam.

Hi I recieved a message from Andrewsimon005@gmail.com saying that He is busy with lot of things so he will send bankers draft with £200 extra for my car purchase. He then said he will send overpayment and asked me to wire extra payment to his agent from my account. He refused to give his contact details but keep saying he is based in Dublin.

Thanks for that I am selling some speakers and received the same email. I googled the phone number after a couple of emails that set alarm bells ringing. and it was the same email as above.
