TO EVERYONE: Powerball is played in the US. I read that playing foreign lotteries is illegal, so if you are living in another country the tickets would not be available. They can only be bought in person from a registered agent.

There is no such thing as the Powerball mobile drawing. This is only a 419 scammer trying to cheat you out of your money and steal your identity. Delete the SMS, so it doesn't install a virus on your cellphone to harvest your details.

I received this morning a email from Lydia Utatu,she is the Claiming/Payment Manager from Power Ball Inc South Africa, to inform me that I won R500 000,00.I asked her if she can send me a cheque. She reply and said that I must pay a courier service of R200 and R1400 for the insurance of the cheque.  I thought it was a scam and I supply with a account number that I do not use any more. Up to now no reply from her. I defnitely think its a scam and be aware.

New scam details "Yr mobile No has won R 500, 000.00 on Power Ball Mobile draw held in ZA, to claim Email Ref: PB072 to Ms. Lydia at msmobiledraw@hotmail.co.za or Call 717070749"

My mom had received an sms from 0795822864 indicating she had won R500000, and to call ms Lydia Utatu  on 0717070749 or email msmobiledraw@hotmail.com. we played along by firstly phoning her and asking if there are any payments or admin fees upfront to claim our prize. She said no, I subsequently emailed her from my blackberry and my mom's name and bank account no. was sent and they responded  from the above email address giving contact details 0717070749 and a fax no. 0866118333 with the lottery Boards regulations (LBR) and Authorized Financial Services and Credit Providor (NCRCP24) on prize claim.They replied after our details were sent, that the payment was being transferred into our account from FNB  at The Glen Office, saying once we have received the payout to get back to her as soon as we have received it to confirm we have been paid. There was also an sms from 0735478961 to confer on the transfer as well.

The crunch, email-  the payment of R500000 was stopped by S.A.Reserve Bank monitoring unit FICA Department  that we need to pay R5199.95 as the insurance fee before they will instruct the FNB bank to credit my account-(this really stinks!!!!) and their reason they gave was that this huge amount needed an insurance fee paid and that we need to get hold of the branch manager Mr Richard of FNB the Glen Branch on 011 0709960 ......and also to get hold of Lydia Utatu on 0717070749.

Subsequently i have ensured my antivirus software is scanning my cell phone and computer.

Please ; there needs to be some really clever people in our country to catch these not so clever scam artist preying on a lot of hopeful people in our country looking for a better future.

and deport these leaches from our country and strap them to a submarine from here to Nigeria or wherever they come from.

I think this mobile draw is a scam, they want to gether detail of people to do scames and pose aas somebody els. They will use your name and adress to borrow mony or order things online.

I just received a text message from a certain Mrs Salome Freza on my phone, stating that I just won R1,000,000 in the Power Ball Mobile Draw in South Africa. The text comes from phone number 1 and I should respond to email msmobiledraw@hotmail.co.za.

I received a sms from cell no. registering "1" that i have won  the power ball mobile lottery on the night 6/06/2013. mrs salome freza is my contact person and assigned lawyer is miss Sakhile L. Nxumalo from Nxumalo Law Chamber. The lawyer want a deposit of R5200 to proceed. Is That a scam?

My husband also received a sms & email that he won R100000.00 on Wednesday 12th June. The contact person is Mrs. Salome. Because we are in a different country she said that she will appoint an attorney for him if he is unable to go to South Africa and that he had to pay R5200.00 in order for the attorney to sign the release form.  Why can't they do the necessary deductions before they transfer the money??
