I received a text from 0724061254 stating that i my cell number has won R150 000.00 @ THE RICA AWARD DRAW and they have given me a REF NK777 and to claim I have to call 0725203156 to claim my prize. So I called the number a guy by the name of Desmond Masheko said that i have won the above mentioned amount and how would i like the money to be paid out to me and that i would recieve a card voucher where i can claim my cheque from my nearest post office and said its a UK Rica Award... I would like to know if any one has received the same text....

I got a two smses from different numbers and contacts, the recent one i got is 0786694835 saying I have won R250 000

i also recived it from the same lady and she even asked my cell number,i gave her then my id and adress then i refuse

SMS received from +278129866667 telling me to contact 0730321247 with a ticket reference number to clain R250.000

Please somebody help about this I received a sms on my wifes phone they says my wife won 200.000.00 they says is a rica promotion my wife she give them her account number. Wher we must report this somebody help about this. The give us the number 0780917545 they even phone her the say we claim this mr mark 0218026438

Contact your bank and get them to check your account.  Best thing to do is change your bank account number.  This sounds like the worldwide "Nigerian 419" scam.  This is a money and identity fraud scam which uses famous companies names to pretend that people have won a fantastic prize.  The ask for various amounts of money before they can pay out the "prize", all fake.  They also want lots of very personal information, including a copy of your passport.  Google "Nigerian 419 scam" for more information.

Received an sms from 0815903661 saying:  congratulation! Your cell no.Has won you R450:000 from rica promo, Ref no a 12rca from claim, and activation call Mr Frank on 0747697439"  Note the spelling and grammar!  I called the number and he asked for my name and number and where I was calling from.  I told him, you tell me, you sent me the sms.  Here is my ref number.  He got annoyed.  He shouted at me, saying where are you calling from.  He said he didn't send any sms.  Then when I said it's Frank.  He said, yes, give me your details to confirm.  He told me I am crazy.  I told him I am going to report him to the police for fraud!
