BT said the number was unknown' didn't stop a second attempt.

I've had 3 text messages from this number stating that it's Openreach to plug in and power up my new router, as I haven't a new router I suspect it's a scam?? The 2nd was a reminder and 3rd to reply if WORKING

My area has just had a fibre upgrade (fttc) and I have been sent a new Talktalk router. I have received a talktalk letter about the router and 'free upgrade', the latter vaguely relating to openreach. This text message was asking me to reply with 'ready', 'working' or 'not working' to verify if the service had been installed correctly.

This phone number is present on the Openreach 'got an engineer coming?' official help page, so it seems legit, but they should really have sent a letter, as many will question it's authenticity.

If Talktalk had mentioned a text message would have been received from Openreach for those regions having fibre installed, or Openreach had sent their own letter, there would have been no issues, but this comes down to a lack of communication between companies in the end.

This no rang my landline stating from open reach asking you to choose a no. Hung up obviously
