Had a few texts from these guys before Xmas, and it has started again.The texts claim to be from a company called Baines and Ernst (turns out they are a debt management company), saying that I should reply urgently to say that I can make a specific appointment.

I had a text from this number saying special car service offer mot £39 from carcraft? reply service and they will call me back how odd but to stop texts send ccstop  to 64446

txt me about a job vacancy!

i got a txt this morning from this number - and  in the text there was list of other mobile numbers - no text just the list of numbers - any idea?

I get messages from this number - they identify themselves as Headmasters, a hairdressers in central Reading. Usually some promotion they've got.

I think this is a company that sends texts on behalf of another company (i.e. a central Text message server).

This number is the "repliable" number for aql, a large SMS company.

Any aql user which wants to be able to receive your replies will appear to use this number.

which allows you to have a reply from your customers that you send messages to, and these
replies to either be stored in a inbox for you, or forwarded to you by email.

The service works by "remembering" messages sent out through our gateway, and matching
replies sent back to us through one of our incoming numbers. After sending a message out, there
is an exclusive window where messages from the destination number will be accepted and routed
back to the correct account. After a message is received back, the window is closed – ie. you can
only receive one reply per message sent out. '

TXT SAYING GOT CAUGHT FOR SPEEDING

This number is from Baines and Ernst. Ive told them to clear off but they keep texting me at least 2 or 3 times a day if it dosent stop I am considering changing my number! Does any one know how to stop them texting me? There must be a law against this as it is harassment.

P.S dont get involved with Bains and Ernst and avoid them like the plague!!!! plus they do lie to you aswell and dont like it when there found out.

Keep getting texts re variouse insurance renuals stating they are comming from a company called Autonet Insurance - called Autonet to explain? said they knew nothing about this!

got a text saying if I get a call from 08009166400 dont call them back call 01274727201. dont know who any of these numbers are for and wont be calling any of them. An clues as to the owners of any of these numbers? thanx

Got a text from this number too saying

"Earn up to £40!  Do you own a Samsung Wave/Galaxy, HTC Desire, Apple iPhone 4? Text back now, take part in an online survey and get paid. Tell your friends. Thank"

I really really hope this is the only text I get and I don't get harassed by them otherwise I'll be phoning up Vodafone and complaining to either change my number or get it barred.

Companies who do this sort of thing should be illegal, it's terrible, and after reading the reports here I'm now worried my number has been compromised.

I keep getting texts from 07786208001 and would like to know who is sending them please.

I got one this morning saying

SAFESTORE: Your account is overdue. Please call us on 0161 8208703 or reply to this text and we will call you back to arrange a payment.

RE: TEXT FROM +447786208001 OFFERING AVAILABLE WORK IN MY RESIDENTIAL AREA. MESSAGE SENT 06/01/2011.

First of all, read Josh's reply to "Random text" and consider the fact that my text was received on my mobile the day after completing an online survey. Make of that association what you will. Suffice it to say, should any calls or messages arrive on your phone from an unknown source, CHECK THEM OUT. DO NOT REPLY BY RETURN CALL OR TEXT UNTIL YOU ARE COMPLETELY SATISFIED THE BUSINESS IS GENUINE. BEWARE POTENTIAL SCAMS OR NUISANCE.
                                         If you use bona fide, legal and "above board" employment agencies, always have their contact numbers in your phone directory with a distinctive listing name, so you can be sure that genuine calls and messages do get through.
