I applied online to Citipeak and went for an interview. The office was small and crowded and seemed a bit dodgy, but they offered me a call-back and I'm scheduled to go in for my first day next week. Now I'm thinking it's not such a good idea?! They didn't really even ask me any questions before giving me the job..

I applied for a 'marketing and promotions assistant' position via Reed and was sent an e-mail saying that I was invited for an interview. It took me several attempts before I was finally put through to her, after which I was invited for an 'informal discussion'. When I turned up, the office was practically bare and bins overflowing. There were only three people working there as far as I could tell. I was told I would get a call and never did...I tried to ring up the company after but was put through to voicemail each time. I even emailed them but they never got back to me...this is clearly a scam company; stay away!!

Even if you want to do door to door sales, there are plenty of hourly waged jobs available.
They might not come with the greed enticing 'unlimited' income nonsense that everyone who works there will keep repeating, but atleast you know you won't go home empty handed or with LESS money that you came in with- because travelling around London everyday is EXPENSIVE

Also, you'd actually be working like 12 hours a day, so if you only got 1 or 2 sales (optimistic because no one wants what you're selling) you'd be earning VERY little for all your trouble + the 3 days 'training' when you're not paid + travel expenses + breakfasts and dinners in expensive places because they expect you to want to learn from them more outside the already ridiculous hours you spend running around and having lunch at like 4 o' clock

IT'S NOT WORTH IT!! JUST STOP BECAUSE YOU'LL ONLY DIG YOURSELF DEEPER!!!

My boyfriend applied for this also, firstly they had his contact details by a wrong name and then called when again when they realised they had the correct ones.

I am worried he will get brainwashed into this scam how do I stop him.

I have shown him this website already and they mentioned something to him about a contract.

Cannot believe how "people" can take advantage of those that want to work.

    Mr S
Thank you guys for Info about CityPeak. I had an interview today. First, they gave me wrong address. Then, I noticed quite a lot of people in office, which wasn't nicely built. The "managing director Toni" was very quick and didn't explain anything.

They called me after 1pm saying I am perfect candidate although I knew that my interview sucked and invited me for an so called open day. Now, thanks to you guys I won't go.

Stay away from Citipeak and anything run by Nick Johnson. I questioned their methods after being offered a job and the personal insults came flying in, they got the whole office to jeer me and threatened legal action if I wrote about this on social media (woops!)

Please avoid this 'company' ! They pretend to be professional but in reality the only thing that they want is to make use of you, just as long as they can ( = they already know from the very begininng that you will leave sooner or later). Still can't believe how they still exist,,,,,Please don't take this 'company' seriously. Waste of time + waste of money + no gain + NOTHING x 1000.

I have worked for one of these for about 6 months.

It is a waste of time, standing outside shopping centre for 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week in some of londons most deprived area's trying to convince people without two pennys to buy talktalk as they are paying too much for BT, SKY etc. for commission only - anyone with a computer knows talktalk are terrible.

I advise anyone to stay away from these companies, many i was working with at the time were in dire straits financially.

Avoid Citipeak promotions by all costs.
The job description is horrendously vauge,  they flower and glamorise the job by giving it the title of "Sales and marketing trainee".
The reviews above about the interview stages are correct.
However I will focus on the second part of the interview process which is the "open day"
You are told to get to the office located in Angel for 8:45am.
Whilst waiting you can see a tonne of young adults all scurrying off to their various assigned locations. You will be called up to the first floor where you will meet your mentor.
Afterwards you're given a short introduction, and off you go into a selected deprived area ( poor people more gullible,  want to save) to sell talk talk packages to them.
Throughout the journey your mentor will tell you about three concepts. The law of averages, 5 tips of conversation, and 8 tips to success. Then you will also learn that unlike Iike in the job description offering you 18 - 21k a year, they mention it's 100% commission based.
    One sale  = £30 - £50
    The hour's are Monday - Saturday 7:30am - 7:30pm.
    So what's the catch?
There are four stages, and they offer that from entry trainee level to the position Nick is in, progression only takes 6-12 months, which unlike in usual workplaces takes how many years.
    There are four stages.
    Stage 1 - Entry level
    - business trips
    - self management (to manage others you need to manage yourself)
    - sales training
    £240-£340 a week
    Stage 2 - Leadership
    - run business trips
    - teach and train
    - basic interviews
    - run events
    £350 - £ 600 a week
(Progression from Stage 1-2 can take 2-4 weeks)
    Stage 3- Assistant Manager
    - shadow owner
    - office based
    - interviews
    - hr, pr, experience
    £600- £1000
Stage 4 - the infamous con artist himself Nick Johnson.

You are drilled and indoctrinated that this is the job for you, that 100% commision based is great, that you are determined and hard working, that this is the job for you.

So onto the open day you are to sit on a pavement for, 8 hours whilst the mentor is selling with two other staff (Enfield market my location) and complete tasks.
    These are the tasks
    1. 10 methods of direct and indirect marketing. (With elaboration of the first three from each category in a written paragraph)
    2. Four pros and cons of indirect and direct marketing.
    3. If you were given £5000, and £500, 000 what businesses would you run (thorough detail)
    4. A letter to Nick explaining why he should hire you.

By lunch you realise that this job triggers all bells, and you think of doing a runner. Do it!

In total amongst three sales people they only managed to attract and sign between them maximum 5 people, thats £150 approx made In a day.

Afterwards you go back to HQ where you are given a questionnaire about the laws of averages etc, and why this job is great to be 100% commission based.
Then a final interview with someone on stage 3.

Take the job if you don't want stability,  enjoying standing on your feet all day, am extreme greed for money and do not havea social life with its 12 hours to relax sleep and wakeup again at forbidden o'clock to get at hq at 7:30.

It's not worth it. Go find a stable job.

Hi I know that it's been a while since you guys have been to these interviews/worked for the companies. I myself have been to a few and seen many a time how they work, it's obvious that they companies are unstable for the most part and no one at the starting line will make any money, perhaps the managers are also lying about their income.

Anyway I'm looking into these sort of companies and would like people to tell me about their experiences either good or bad. Please get in contact with me at armetagemuffakim@outlook.com if you have anything that you can tell me!
