Someone fro The Green company trying to sell something. Solar panels or insulation. I put the phone down

Received a cold call from the Green Company claiming that I had contacted them regarding reducing my electricity costs.  When I told the caller I had not contacted his company and did not want to receive cold calls he became angry and told me not to waste his time.  These people are scum!!!

Just had a call from the same company, told me in a very abusive manner I was wasting her time when I told I wasn't interested, I  then told to clear off. She then phoned me back twice theating to report me to police for using abusive lanuage and even send her father round to sort me out! She demanded an apolgy and also claimed she was working for the goverment.

Stay well clear of these idiots.

Just found out they're the Green company so posting this here too: I've had similar nuisance calls today... First cold call was from a bubbly London woman from 07535 424231 and she presented her company as part of a government scheme to encourage renewable energy. It's something I've been interested in of late so I asked about cost. She said they'd have to let me know if I qualified for the scheme first then confirmed my details which rather worryingly they already had at their end then hung up. Another woman phoned back about 15 mins later, sounding strangely like the first woman, from 07972 290658. I tried to get straight to the point and asked about cost and was repeated put off by the usual 'it depends' and 'on the property size' and 'they'd need to survey' etc amongst other things. After 10 mins of evading the issue I told her I was no longer interested. At that point her voice changed and she wanted to know why. I then said I'd rather not speak about it any more. She was very persistent and added I was acting like a little boy and wasting her time. I finished with 'you're being rude, which part of NO do you not understand' and put the phone down. They phoned back immediately. She ranted some more about wasting her time. I stated I didn't want them to contact me anymore as she was getting more persistently rude. I was very angry and at that point and in a roundabout way told her to 'get lost' to which she said 'no I won't' – I put the phone down again. The phone rung immediately from the same number, er and again, and again... although I chose not to answer it from that point. The total number of calls from this number registered 8 over the next 20 minutes or so, plus the original call made 9 calls in total – now that's what I call a nuisance caller. Livid...

A total tool called me from the "Renewable Energy department".
Refused to tell me what firm his department belonged to!

I told him I wasn't interested, he said "why not" quite abruptly and then the call ended with him shouting that I was rude!

I'm getting sick and tired of these people calling. They ask for my husband and won't deal with me.  Just had a call from them "Hello this is Poppy" in a cheerful voice, then she asked for my husband I said he wasn't available so she said she'd call later. I asked for the name of the company "sorry I can't tell you that" at which point I told her in no uncertain terms not to phone back and that she was very rude.

What's the betting she'll call back!  And why can't I, a mere female, deal with the call after all when they eventually send some one to see you (as has already happened) they want both husband and wife at the meeting!!

It took some work to identify them as they just say they are "The Green Company" before they ring off when you try to probe them further on their website or address or who they are.  This leads to one wrongly thinking the call is from easier to find Green Companies such as www.greencompany.co.uk, who are in fact a firm of legitimate landscape architects, rather than a bunch of deliberately TPS flouting salesmen scumbags as these thick Essex wideboys are.  Like most of the rest of you here I was called by them on mobile phone number 07972 290658.  The fact they don't withhold the number tells you how truly thick as [***] this lot clearly are.

However a little work leads to www.thegreenenergycompanyuk.com from Brentwood, Essex (centre of low intelligence man in line with this company's thick as two short planks sales pitch and ignorant or couldn't give a stuff breaching of the TPS) on 0800 3134489 who are quite clearly the idiots who contacted me claiming they were doing market research for the government and other such rubbish but obviously trying to flog some form of energy saving product with an aggressive sales pitch that is largely reliant on economy with the truth and a cold call foot in the door to hoodwink less intelligent members of the population.

I strongly recommend anyone troubled by these [***] reports them to www.actionfraud.police.uk for misrepresenting themselves as calling for the government and then to www.tpsonline.org.uk and their Complaints page and www.ico.org.uk/complaints (the Information Commissioner) who now have more powers to investigate and fine these [***] tens of thousands of pounds if they keep at it for long enough.

Unfortunately Trading Standards in Essex and indeed everywhere else will no longer take direct phone calls or reports from the general public.

To make a report to Trading Standards about Green Energy Alternatives/British Solar you now have to instead make a telephone report to the CItizens Advice Consumer Service as listed at www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index/getadvice/consumer_service.htm

However don't use the ripoff 0845 numbers they will try to get you to call them on listed on their website and instead use the numbers for the Citizens Advice Consumer Bureau listed for your area at www.saynoto0870.com/search.php
