- Anon| 1 replyThis is seemingly a market research company ringing on behalf of other companies. They also have a website - https://thisismotif.com - it possibly registered in Nov 2018.
I rang their 020 London office today to confirm the 0800 number; the ring tones when I called the head office were long and drawn out, as though the number is abroad or is channelled abroad/redirected.
The woman I spoke with sounded Aussie. However, she first wanted my own number; when I politely declined, she looked through their 0800 number list after logging into something and then said the 0800 number that rang me was one of theirs. She seemed legit and helpful enough, so its likely the 0800 number is legit - but its up to you to verify this.
The company: ‘This Is Motif Limited’ is registered on the UK’s Companies House website since 1992. Their sister company Network Research & Marketing Limited (of the same business address) was registered in Feb 2019 - so it is likely the calls are coming from one or other of these.- Caller: This is Motif

- Hayley| 2 repliesWorried how they got my phone number-as this one is ex-directory! However, my partner now shares this address and has been having serious customer service problems with his bank in Spain. At the top of this page a Spanish advert appeared, so I think that someone over there has probably lifted his details from an envelope or bill and has used them or passed / sold them on? Still not sure if this so called ‘survey’ is a scam or not, but my partner’s bank would usually email him, not phone!

- DM replies to Hayley| 1 replyCalled asking to talk about my bank account. Told them nothing, obviously, and would recommend others do the same.
Thanks Hayley for the info. - DM replies to DMMeant thanks to anon for the research.
Thanks anyway Hayley ;-) - anima| 4 repliesScam. Claimed to want to do a survey about "the bank" I visited recently. Confirmed with my bank this is not one of the numbers they use to call people.

- BMWriderCalled twice today on my mobile. I missed answering as I fumbled with my phone. Checked here and thanks to others contribution I have now blocked that number.
- Adam Souter replies to anima| 3 repliesIf they were calling from Motif, then they're not a scam, please double check with your bank as they will definitely assure you that they use Motif as the 3rd party to conduct costumer feedback. Please do your research before claiming that the "Scottish bloke" was trying to scam you
- clive| 3 repliesno message left . i rang the number and it is motif , saying they rang about a product but they should not be ringing as i`m registered with the tps and they do not have my written permission to call me
- Caller: motif
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Martin replies to Adam Souter| 1 replyand you're 100% sure are you Adam??? No one, these days, can EVER be 100% percent sure that an unknown number is not a scam. Always, always, always be that extra bit careful.
If this is a genuine number then why do they not leave a message?
I'd rather go with Anima's judgement that the "Scottish Bloke" is possibly trying to scam me. By this I am staying 100% safe from scammers, by assuming that all strange calls are from some form of scam.
And why the hell would anyone want to do a customer feedback survey? They are dull and bare no importance at all - A replies to AnonEven if it wasn't legit, all they ask for is your opinion on the service lol, if you went ahead with it you would see that the questions are not personal and are multiple choice.
- Alistair replies to MartinOkay so first of all customer feedback is extremely important to any company, especially banks. How do you expect them to improve? You saying that they are not important is actually funny. Also if you did the survey you would realize that it is just multiple choice questions that are not personal to the person being called. I am 100 percent sure if the person introduces them self from Motif then it is a legit call as I have some friends that work there part time while at uni. If you want to go though your life thinking that every unrecognizable call you get is a scam then by all means go for it.
- Thomas replies to clive| 2 repliesGo onto their website mate, it explains exactly why they are allowed to contact people who are registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) or who are listed as ex-directory. They are allowed to call you because it is market research. They are not selling you something. www.thisismotif.com
- mrs Hinkle replies to Thomas| 1 replyI don't care how you choose to package their 'cause,' I do NOT want to hear from them - ever!!! I had not asked them to call and I find their intrusion an offence.
- Thomas replies to mrs HinkleOkay well take that up with your bank then, maybe just shove all your money under your bed or something or actually answer the call and say you don't want to do it, if you verbally say that then they will not ring you again. They will code it as refused.
