My wife got an unexpected 'phone call last night @18:31hrs on our landline number, and the female caller asked for me by name. The caller used my correct name and referred to me politely as 'Mr M'..and she said that it was "simply a courtesy call from my bank", although she did not specify which particular bank she was calling on behalf of. I felt a little suspicious as my own bank would never contact me for any reason especially in the early evening. Maybe I'm just too suspicious but I think this was a little odd.  At least on this occasion, the telephone number was stored so that I could check out and possibly report the caller ID.

Why has this number been calling on land line and mobile at same time.

I had exactly the same only on a Saturdat morning and an answer phone message. Said they were "your bank"

It's Yorkshire bank. Not Your bank.

08006783477 however when I rang the bank to check it was unknown

Called the bank to ask if they had called did not give any details to the person who called.
How did they get my number. X Directory.

Do not engage with this number when i phoned back to check who it was
phone answered but denyed he had called me.

Unless you give someone your number who you trust how are people getting numbers
which are supposed to be X directory ? Feel very upset and it may have been a mistaken
dial code but it did not feel like that.

Phoned my x directory home phone and asked some questions which i did not reply to but when i said i would verify the call and ring back, he rang off.
