Friends Provident cold call the public using 0800 7837 861 even if your EX directory.  Beware of this number I know I work there.  Targets are the reason

Just called me now, persistent.

Getting sick of this number ringing now - they have phoned around about 10 times EACH day for the past 2 weeks.  Nearly each time they've been told that "he's not in from work yet" (or words to that effect as they're after my fiance) but they still phone back 15 minutes later (at all times of day).  I've even told them to STOP phoning but they still are.  How do I stop them ringing us all the time?!

This is indeed Friends Provident. They do use this number for legitimate calls if you already have an existing pension or investment with them.

Rang me at 6:55 am this morning and as i didnt finish work till 2am I wasnt to impressed

Confirm that FP are still calling using this number. I'm an IFA and they will not give up calling me either.

Wife had one of these calls...even though we ARE with FP...

They just called me but I don't answer these numbers

I get these calls, but.... Some of the calls are legit and therefore you should answer to make sure there isn't importanant finaicial information associated to your plan.

Agreed some are just sales calls. Make your own mind up to answer or not.

Sorry Graham mind readers they may not be, but 6:55am is an unacceptable time in any ones book.

Anyone calling at that time make themselves phone pests and lose any high ground they may or may not have had.

Just had a call from this number, left voicemail saying it was from Tesco Life Insurance.

Friends Provident don't sell direct, it's either through intermediaries or via you calling there direct sales number. So if we call you have a policy or have applied for a policy at some point and given your number to an intermediary or to Friends Provident (Or the number we have is out of date)

Tesco Life insurance is Underwritten and administered by Friends provident. To get a call someone must have entered details via the Tesco web site and given your phone number

this is Friends Life - when the call is made from an office phone with no direct dial number the 0800 number shows as the caller

keep getting calls from this no on my mobile, when i answer caller hangs up

Tell them that you're registered with the telephone preference service to stop cold calls & advise them to remove you from their database. Register with TPS & get your fella to, stops lots of calls

I don't have an existing account with Friends Provident, but I do have an open sales lead with them. They were probably calling me to try and close the lead. They don't call too often to be fair.

Ours was a genuine call from Friends Provident. If you have a pension plan where the government gave tax free top up and are nearing retirement age you will want to take this call
