Caller masquerading as MONZO fraud department. The number is 1 digit different to MONZO’s actual number. These guys had my name, address and card details already. Basically they told me there was an attempted fraud on my card, and that they’d send me a transaction that I had to cancel. This gives the impression they’re genuine and able to send through the app. However all they had done was attempt a purchase while I was on the phone, which they knew would send me an alert. I guess this was all to gain trust so they could get further details, but alarm bells were ringing when they asked for my date of birth and couldn’t call me back later. Alarmingly convincing though,
