i have been charged on my phone bill for thi number comes up as multi media service/ Who and why?

I called this number to book a sky box office movie....

Will definitely be chargeable if made from a mobile phone - which generally only allow 01 numbers and calls to other UK mobile numbers as part of the tariff. I suspect this will also be chargeable from a landline, although I'm not sure about that. I've called from mobiles as I could never get through on via a landline number. Have even experimented calling at the same time from both a mobile and a landline number, and unsurprisingly only the mobile got through the lengthy 'options'. My landline calls were met with the usual ' we are experiencing a high demand for our service,  blah, blah - call back later'. I actually tried calling from the landline for 42mins and couldn't get through, whereas the mobile got through EVERY time.

How many different phone numbers do sky have. I have 3 on my phone bill but can only remember phoning 1 of them.

When this number calls us it doesn't say that the call be chargable,

If you were charged for an incoming call from that number have a word with PhonepayPlus.  This is what they say:

"If you want to log a complaint to PhonepayPlus you can call our helpline on 0800 500 212 (Mon-Fri, 0900-1700).

You could alternatively contact your mobile phone network and ask them for details about this number and advice about what to do next."

I got charged as well - £40 for an hour - when I phoned Sky to get Sky Sports for a month. Didn,t realise the call would be more than the package itself

Rang Sky because I was paying for but not receiving Sky and many other tv channels. Fix only lasted an hour and a half so had to ring back.
Mobile phone bill shows charges of  £33.57 + VAT for the two calls- totalling just over an hour! Will definitely be letting tbem know how I feel - but not by phone!
