No loan from Quick Decision Loans
BY ANDREW PENMAN ON AUGUST 26, 2009 7:33 PM IN DEBTS AND LOANS
This sounded like good news. "Congratulations, you've been accepted," Andrew Greenhalgh of Atherstone, Warks, was told by Quick Decision Loans.
Andrew was delighted because he urgently needed £10,000 to complete a house purchase.
Crystal from Quick Decision then asked for Andrew's credit card details for a £69.95 admin fee. Only when the money didn't arrive did he discover that QDL wasn't a lender, just a broker.
It said his application had been passed to another firm, Everyday Loans, but Everyday didn't have his details.
"Quick Decision told me that I'd been approved," Andrew said. "So I agreed to pay their fee and now I have been left out of pocket and without a loan."
We asked QDL for their email so that we could forward Andrew's complaint.
First a spokeswoman told us: "It's confidential." Then she said that it was www.quickdecisionloans.com. We pointed out that this was their web address, not an email address.
Next she told us that their email address was on the website, so we asked her to show us how to find it and she couldn't. Finally she gave us an email address for sister company UCC plc.
Quick Decision Loans is the trading name of Smart 2006 Ltd and it has the same directors as UCC - William Clinton of Solihull, West Mids, and Darren Leah of Farnborough, Hants.
So we emailed UCC, aka Unsecured Credit Company plc, but have heard nothing back.
Draw your own conclusion.

Under the consumer credit act section 155 loan brokers have to find you a loan within 6 months or you are entitled to your fee back.

It's sickening that under the current financial climate, these so called 'loan' companies take money from desperate customers. I needed a loan last year and after looking through the web i got details of a company who guaranteed to find a loan. After taking my details, they asked for my card details to cover their admin fee of £49.00. I never got the loan, but was bombarded with text messages from other companies promising a loan and all charging an admin fee. It got to the point where I had to change my mobile number. The FSA should have stricter regulations against these companies and protect the public.

Can't believe it... I was using the Credit Expert / Experian Website to try and find a loan, and they send me onto this QDL. You can be guaranteed that they will get short shrift from me when they call, and I am about to send a VERY disgruntled letter to Credit Expert. The cheek in this environment!

This is really sad, when most of us got to know about this company through Credit Expert, who were suppose to prevent and advice us on this sort of issue.
I am really disappointed with CreditExpert, that they would be putting their customers to such a bogus company.
I mean I also paid the 69.95 and now I am asking them for a refund. I am really furious that CreditExpert would do this!

Sadly I should have searched for these type of comments before I also committed my £69.95 two weeks ago. MIKE RYBAKOWSKI SAID:
I too have been stung by this low life group but what really makes it worse for me is the scenario that like so many of us who subscribe to Experian to avoid credit issues, we find we were directed to this outfit by a company that portrays itself to be protecting our credit status. Then when you contact the bank to inform them what has happened and can they claim back this money, you are told that you cannot retrieve your money as you gave them your details in the first instance.
So what we have is not just "one" unscrupulous company that care nothing about its customers but "three" but there again didnt we already know that !

SENNY SAID:
I am so glad i did not give them the 69.95 over the phone as i have did not trust the admin fee it was relatively too high. I just called them up and I demanded they delete my personal details for data protection purposes.

HENRY SAID:
I was caught by the tonight! £69! I thought it would be a legit company since they were recommended by Experian. The people on the phone are very friendly and when you call back they answer quick. I just can't believe that you can have a whole office full off people that lie to you. Is there not some kind of law against this? I would like to give Experian a piece of my mind, since the are supposed to be there to help you with your credit. Well now it is done so I'll just have to check and see what happens next.

JEN FROM QDL SAID:
I'm disappointed that you were unhappy with the Service from QDL.
As a company we pride ourselves in finding customers the loans that they are looking for. We realise that in all cases this is not always possible as we base our decision on the information provided by the customer on the telephone.
If this information is incorrect and also does not match information as found on your credit bureau report this can adversely affect the decision on your loan.
Any customer that is not completely satisfied with our service is entitled to a refund and upon receipt of your request in writing you will have a refund in your account within 10 days.

After joining credit expert last Wednesday, got an e-mail saying QDL would contact me.....then came 6 text messages saying 'need a quick loan - ring.....' and from Thursday to Saturday 27 missed calls on my mobile (not being rude not answering but i work in a call centre myself so tricky if you're already on a phone!) Anyway at 11am on Sunday the phone rang again and i answered - to be greeted by what sounded like a rather moody South African type lady with no name who seemed to answer my questions for me - luckily after about 4 minutes she hung up on me and i havn't had any calls since!!! Phew!!! And i didn't part with any money.....thank goodness i found these comments!

Do not give up be firm and do not take any rubbish off them and you will get your money back, they will ask you to write in which can take extra time but I demanded an email address and sent it straight away it was dealt with the next day. Also sent a email to credit expert to complain about there service but as of yet no reply

I have not had the misfortune of getting ripped off by this company, but I too am furious that Credit Expert have forwarded my details to this shady company. I am getting as many as 20 missed calls in 24 hours.
From the WHOIS database, the company is based in Farnborough, and surprise surprise I live in Farnborough too. I tried calling the number but it's designed to automatically hang up after 1 ring. Deliberately. As of tomorrow I will be doing two things:
1) Visiting their offices
2) Reporting both QDL and Credit Expert to BBC Watchdog.
I will keep everyone posted.

Just got off the phone hoping I could cancel payment with my bank (it is in pending payments, answer: no the payment will have to go through. Credit Expert/QDL need to be exposed, I have been easy prey because they recognised my desperation. Another thing that worries me is the amount of information they required from me - although I managed to get away without giving my national ins no. I can not believe I actually allowed this to happen, I even recognised during the lengthy question and answer session just how unprofessional QDL where but because they came via Credit Expert I ignored my instincts.

Hi all, I'm a victim too. At this point I am so cross that I, like many others, would like QDL to be removed from the planet. It appears that there are enough people who have been stung to try and get some momentum going to at least stop some of this companies antics. My idea would be to somehow get Experian to remove them from the website, and ultimately to have the company exposed. I was actually lied to on several occasions and have an e-mail from QDL to verify one of the lies. I will post back on her with a hotmail address in a few days. The hope being that enough people can come together and collectively sort out this problem. I wonder if several people call up QDL record the conversations and ask for confirmation e - mails whether some kind of case could be pursued. At the moment I feel like making it my life's priority to champion the demise of QDL. What about a facebook page as well?

I read this blog just after I finished dealing with 'No Worries Loans' on the phone.
I did a Google search for £69.95 because that is what they took from my Credit Card. They wanted to know if I had Debit Cards, I said no only a Bank Pay in card, he wanted to know all the numbers on the Bank Card sort code, account number and other numbers in the middle. Then asked me for my Mastercard number and start date/expiry and last three digits on the back of my card. Then proceeded to help himself to £69.95 on my credit card, the money was my income support and only paid in today! (I didn't give my consent to this) he just rambled on about £69.95 is in line with all loan applications in the UK and he needs it to process my forms and I will get them in the post in a few days. He sounded French, not a British accent, His name was Anno. I should have done my home work. I have never had a loan in my life!. And now, when I have hardly any money and times are bad and I need a small loan to get by these people take from me what little I had. The £69.95 was almost all of my benefit. I only get £82 a week paid into my Cashplus account (pre paid Mastercard) and it's to buy food and pay some bills. I have felt sick all day!. How can these people get away with this? What's wrong with the UK laws?
