Keep asking for a man who i have never heard of will not discuss anything with me.Have tried returning the call the number above will not accept incoming calls.Managed to find their office number in Scotland and got a rude woman telling to phone yet another number!!! then hung up.....Nice

I've been getting constant calls from these idiots...for someone else like marie above...i spoke to someone not so long back and told them my 'name' as i figured it was none of there beeswax who i really was..just not the lady they are looking for.  They said they would remove my number..still waiting, shower of muppets..

They started ringing me 2 weeks ago-every day.Not answering it coz they shlnt have my number in the first place. They even send me text messages sayin if kathryn cld ring em bk so i ignored it hopin theyd stop calling me.

Same here.. I keep getting daily cryptic voicemails for someone I don't know. Annoying. :/

I wonder if they're a new company or something, they've just taken to calling me almost every day for a fortnight now. Whenever I answer there's nobody there, they never leave a message, and they don't answer their phone. What a bunch of twits. The phone company must love them, their bills must be huge for absolutely no benefit to themselves. I'm with that caller preference thing so no idea how they have my number.

This is BCW Group, they buy their details (your number) from unscrupulous sources, so you will not be surprise if they are ringing your number for someone else, and this to me is just as spam calling and is just as annoying.
Play them at their own game! Collect all that junk mail you get through your door, those endless pizza menus, all them credit card offers, you know the stuff, pop it in a big envelop of lots of little envelops to annoy even more! And post them to the address below! WITHOUT A STAMP! It will cost them money to receive your junk mail and will waste there time like they waste your time!!

Or you could send it direct to the company directors!! They not hard to find only took me 20 minutes! Starting Point Company House for directors names! Electoral roll search in locality, old electoral roll search to cross reference! Google info! Check info with Equifax!! Phone call to a friend at Inland Revenue calls centre and Bingo!!!

Getting these too, twice a day, every day.  I've been ignoring them for a couple of months....you'd think they would have given up!

Loads of calls and txts but in my name. don't get it.

The caller told me he was from N-power (who by the way are not my supplier)

I thank the person who added the geographical number 0141 221 4567 as it costs me little to ring this one instead of the 0845 etc which costs me and makes them money by me calling to complain.

I spoke with some stupid girl who told me the MD was 'the most senior person in the office today' but when I asked to speak with him I was told he is not in today!  She refused to give her name and admitted she was untrained to answer basic questions!  D'oh!  I began to wonder how bad the other companies who do this are if BCW are "..the UK’s premier provider of credit management and debt recovery services." <-- copied from their website front page!

I finally get to speak to a man who said he was the Operations Manager and his name, he said, is Mr Farley.

I addressed him by this name and asked him why I was being called by his offices, leaving an 0845 number almost daily and on the days when I am around, they hang up when I answer.  He denied this would happen as he said ".. there'd be no profit to us to do that." which makes sense, except that they keep on doing it, which I took pains to point out.

He tried talking over the top of me and also tried to rile me into forgetting the reason for my call and arguing about inconsequential detail, i.e. what I said two whole minutes earlier!  I passed on that one with a word about semantics and came down to the essence of it:  "STOP PHONING ME!"

I work for a comms company and I know some details of law requirements for orgs like his who call people.

They are members of some pretty tasty orgs and have ISO 9001 accreditation, yet they are essentially 3rd party interlopers who are buying up erroneous debts along with legitimate debts.

One thing to be wary of and that is that I was asked for my number to investigate the problem.  I refused to give it as my number was only mine for the last 4 months and it is very private and not published anywhere.

He insisted and I continued to refuse.  I thought he would hang up, but I am impressed that he did not.  It shows a certain amount of professionalism on his behalf.  I did insist that I have no debts with any company and that I have no contracts with his, ergo all calls to my person should be conducted as though they are cold calls and should therefore be subject to the same rules as applies to any party with whom we have no direct business - TPS should prevent any cold calls.

Buying of debt is massive business and debt is the World's most lucrative industry of the Noughties.

debt collector for scottish power. appear to have little command of english and i now do not answer their calls. was unable to work out what they wanted.

I just got a call from these clowns about an outstanding bill with 'Orange' I dont have an outstanding bill with anyone but my ex Wife !

He told me i could pay it off over the phone if i gave him my credit card number.

I politely told him to f**k off! If there is a polite way to do that

These people phoned my 93yr old grandmother claiming to be from NPower and told her she owed money for an unpaid bill.  We pay all her bills and we knew it was not the case and phoned NPower who confirmed there are no debts or arrears.  

I also phoned this company who surprise, surprise couldn't look into the so-called debt without a reference number.  Apparently they couldn't do it with a name, address or phone number yet they had her name and phone number to ring???

This has caused an old lady distress and panic and I am livid.  I am taking it as far as I can with the relevant authorities and have also reported to the police.  

I suggest anyone who has had these scum phoning them about alleged debts that they haven't got to report them and post a comment on here.

I also noticed that this seems to have started up recently in the last month.

Same here - pretty useless if they cannot search for a telephone number however i managed to get them to take my name and number and asked them to remove it from there database.

Will wait and see if they actually do it.

Keep calling my daughter's mobile number each day.  My daughter is aged 10 so I don't think she has any debts...

Further to my post above, a single email to info@bcwgroup.com telling them that they had the wrong number was enough to get it sorted.  Had a polite reply today thanking me and saying they'd remove the number from the records concerned.  

Its website describes BCW as an "ethical and professional credit management organisation" which takes its responsibilities very seriously.  In my case, seems they are living up to this claim.

Further to my post they asked for my Grandmother by name.  Call me very sceptical but I find it a huge coincidence that they could call a wrong number to someone with exactly the same name.

The sceptic in me would also wait to see if there are any further calls before I was confidant that they were 'living up to their claims'
