i took out a new  o2iphone 4 contract a couple of weeks ago and i'm getting hounded by these calls every day, usually 1 per day, from 0845 293 0000 and 0845 863 0287, getting very annoying, even called me when i was in spain on holiday several times. i find it funny how many people have had recent dealings with o2 followed by these bloody calls! i have not got accounts with anybody or owe any money so im putting this 1 down to o2, wish i cud answer in time to give them a piece of my mind... and it sure wont be pretty.

I too have just taken out a contract with o2 (Friday) and have since had this number ring me 3 times today, surely it is illegal what they are doing?
The only person other than myself who knows this number is my financee as I havent given it to any mates/family as yet and I certainly dont have an debt or credit agreements other than with my mortgage provider and bank accounts- very odd.

same here - just had a missed call from this number, new contract with o2, connected last night - has anyone called O2 to find out what this could be, sounds very dodgy!! i will be pi$$ed if they call late at night / early in the morning

What?? I don't have ANY accounts or owe any money to catalogues, store cards or online stores so why am I being disturbed by their nusiance calls?  This comment is not helpful.

and ive had 3 calls from them (ignored the last 2)

i have has missed calls from the 0845 2930000 and 08458630287, and have recently chenged to an o2 phone.  Other websires such as this report they are both o2 a courtesy call which turns into insurance or some other sales pitch, Annoying

Got a call from these today didn't get to the phone on time, but when tried calling back it says tempory out of service??

but also i signed up to contract o2 and recieved my phoine yesterday and they called today. Got to be something with o2??

08452930000 and 08458630287as far as I know this is O2 and they are trying to sell you internet services, spoke to someone from there Monday

I've just got my first call, but if you contact your network provider (call usually free) you can get the number blocked.

Ah, just read the O2 comments above. Yeah, that makes sense. How much money do they want from me?

One call yesterday, it was O2, got rid of them quickly. Today again. Yes, it is O2.

I've had 3 calls from this number in the last few days (and another 3 from a number definitely belonging to O2). I've not answered them as I don't know who they are and when I called it back I got the 'temporarily out of service' message someone else has mentioned. (I'm on O2 but not a new contract)

well if its o2 i wish they would say something because if its about insurance  i want it so i will just go to another company that does cheaper insurance so its there loss at the end of the day so cool lol

I have had several calls from 08452930000 today but wasn't there to answer it at these times, I haven't given my number to any companies and do not have any online accounts so I have no clue where they received my number from.

Get occasional calls from this number. Just rings and hangs up when I answer. I got a call from this number to my brand new number as well which nobody knows apart from the service provider. Strange ! I never bothered calling back...

Bought an iphone a few days ago.  I am waiting to swap my old mobile number to O2 from my current mobile network so nobody knows my iphone number, apart from the internet.  This seems therefore to originate from either O2 or apple - or somebody/ automated computer dialling hacking into these sites.

I am beginning to get really fed up with these persons ringing and waiting for me to answer the phone, and then hang up. I and not amused and wonder if there is anyway of stopping them. If these calls get blocked they just use another number to be just as irritating. They are a real thorn in my side. I answer them because the call may be important, but am getting to the stage where I won't answer any call that is listed as unavailable. Surely if they were legit they wouldn't need to use unavailable. This tells me they are checking to see whose in and who isn't. Scary I say!!
