    I phoned Hertfordshire Police on Sunday to report a theft and I've been charged??? How can the police use a premium number? That is radiculous.

    0845 is a "Lo-call" number, not a premuim number.

    This number is the Hertfordshire Police Traffic incident line.  No idea why they should be calling anybody though!

    This number used to belong to Hertfordshire Police before they adopted the 111 non-emergency number. We had a call today from an Oriental woman selling a PPI claims 'service'. As we had the old number programmed into the phone, the screen showed 'Police'. When we challenged her, she hung up. You have to query how such an important number can be available for use by others so quickly.
