gauk users have drawn our attention to a FAKE review posted on a forum under the title of: GovernmentAuctionsUK.com Scam - Review of Gauk Fraud Governmentauctionsusa.com

We do not normally respond to this type of garbage however the false allegations on this page are so serious that we felt we should address the post.

Google have banned the liabelleous and malicious post from appearing in their search results but there are so many 'keywords' that it is sometimes viewable.

The post was made by Mr Carboni himself under a false name (as are many of the posts on the forum) in response to our legal action for the theft of our entire auction database.  The auction data in now some years old but still published on eSources.  Suffice to say, as with the wholesale data, it is now entirely out of datae.

Customers have been actively exposing Carboni and we applaud the fact that they have not been detered by Carboni's ridiculous legal threats and rebuttals on forums and other websites.

gauk first became aware of Carboni's existence when he approached us asking 'if he could promote the auction data on an affilaite basis as it would be a good match for his service'.  A few mails were passed and nothing came of it, mainly due to the fact Carboni failed to deliver on any of his promises.

Through routinely searching and checking seo, esources suddenly started coming up under auctions related keywords ... this was unusual especially as only a few weeks prior they had absolutely no auction database and only maintained out of date and stolen wholesale data.

Miraculously, Carboni had managed to find every auctioneer in the UK 'through organic research!!!' (a feat that took gauk several years of ongoing work to accomplish), and place it in his database that, astonishingly duplicated that of gauk to the letter. Even the categories were word-perfect; categories that had been created by a hard working researcher.

Naturally Carboni was approached and said it must be a 'data input mistake' and 'would look at it' ... of course he didn't and the data is still appearing on his other website wholesaledeals.co.uk which, again appears to be trading at false an accomadation address: http://www.google.com/search?q=60+Windsor+Ave ... lient=firefox-a

However, a quick who-is search on the domain and hey presto!  Carboni rears his ugly head: http://who.is/whois/wholesaledeals.co.uk/

There appear to be no end of people who have nothing good to say about this person and eSources.

Mr Carboni hides behind his accommodation addresses and never answers his mobile.

BACKGROUND: Several years ago Mr Carboni approached us with a view to selling our auction data. We made arrangements to facilitate this via a number of mails and phone calls and then heard nothing. A few weeks later we were shocked to find our data coming up in Google searches on esources.com. After further investigation we found that Mr Carboni had 'scraped' our Auction data in it's entirety. This data, although now several years out of date, is still publicly available at http://auctionhouses.esources.co.uk/auctions/26/

FURTHER ACTION: We decided to leave the situation as it was and move on with our business rather than waste precious time and resources in a purely negative cycle and possibly provoke further malicious postings by Carboni on the forums.  We did take advice and were told that it is very difficult to seek redress in these situations as we need to 'prove' Mr Carboni posted the comment.  It was also pointed out that any action on our behalf may trigger yet more malicious comment from Carboni under various pseudonyms.

It appears that time is runing out for esources. Consumer action on forums is having an affect and according to Alexa eSources rankings are dropping daily.  

IN SUMMARY:
The forum post is a completely libellous fabrication designed to cause disruption to me and my company (which is has done over the years).

gauk have never been reported to any police department. Copyright content is not a police matter.
gauk Auctions is highly transparent, has a team of data input staff who keep the data fresh and clean and totally up to date as far as our resources allow. The entire auctions database of 1800 auctioneers was manually checked last month and is totally current. The data is clearly available on the public pages without subscribing.
Our Surplus stock section is published via an API (product feed) specially set up as outlined in a contractual agreement with stockshifter.com
The post actively promotes ways to get our information for free: 'No need to pay gauk, just visit the auctioneers categories, search the auctioneer name in Google, and hey presto you have all the auctions.'

We do hope this clarifies the situation.  It is very unfortunate that this individual is allowed to cause so many people so many issues; he has certainly caused us many unsolicited problems over the years and our only hope, along with literally hundreds of others is that he is finally subjected to a full investigation by the relevant authorities and prevented from trading.

He is a horrible man. Selfish , money grabbing with no morals. He has already been in prison. He needs to go back there .

Thank you for warnings about the wholesale deals and esources scam website, I cannot believe they also own edit the false blogs and fake forums wholesaleforum.com and dropshipforum.com (lots of fake empty bot accounts)

Constant telephone calls because i will not subscribe to the wholesale deals website, I took a trial period and could not make any profit from the few goods listed by the time i put vat, postage charges, ebay and paypal fees on plus delivery fees. All other retailers were 40% cheaper than me, so would not sign up after the free trial, Constant telephone calls telling me to sign up, sick of them.

Esources and Wholesale Deals scam websites

Wholesale Deals claims to be the UK's most popular wholesale and dropshipping sourcing service, however this could not be further from the truth. In fact it is a scam and a very elaborate one at that. The man behind it all is call Mr Stefano Carboni and he and his accomplices have swindled thousands of pounds from hard working people taken in by his antics, So, how do we know it is a scam? Well you have to dig a little deeper than the first page of google. Let me explain.

Wholesale deals is part of a large network of websites which the aim of charging potential buyers for the privilege of finding suppliers and products to sell online. The problem is that these suppliers or products do not either exist or if they do the prices are so high you could never sell them on!

If you type into google "wholesaledeals.co.uk scam" you are met with a list of entries on the first page, one being wholesaledeals themselves. The other websites which show up are

Plus many other cheap one page blogs with only positive reviews

All the above websites have glowing references and reviews about how great wholesale deals is, however the problem is, all these websites are either owned by or created by Stefano Carboni in order to further his scam. Take Wholesaleforum.com for example, this looks like a fairly busy forum with a good number of members but be careful. This forum is online for one reason only and that is to funnel traffic to wholesale deals and the esources scam and his other money making machines. If you signed up for an account on wholesale forum and tried to post a new thread this would be held for moderation. Not too unusual as you have just opened an account and some forums have strict controls in place but the problem is, no matter how many posts you attempt they will never see the light of day.

Around 99% of the articles on this forum are fake users created in the mind of Stefano Carboni and his band of merry men. You just have to look at the thread about wholesale deals to see how uniformed the usernames and responses are. Look through the forums as a whole and every single post even by different users are formatted exactly the same. This would never happen in a open forum. Take a look at the latest posts, the only ones are from the mods replying to 3 or 4 year old threads to give the forum a slight look of activity. The mind boggles at how far he will go to keep the illusion alive.

Move onto dropshipforum.com and the story is the same with the same format of responses however this has not been updated since 2013 so it appears he has given up on this side of it

Now lets look at the blogspot websites, both of above provide long, glowing references in the same tones as the forums, These imaginary reviewers must really have a good imagination, Long story short, these reviews are 100% fake, false and blatant lies.

If you take a look at the scambook.com entry you will see a real review. The response? Stefano Carboni called him a liar, points out reviews of both wholesale deals and esources on HIS forums to try and prove that this review was fake. He even thanks him for his "fake review"

If you continue to dig you will see that each time he finds a negative review he responds by referring to his own site reviews as his proof of legitimacy of his businesses. He has even gone as far as starting smear campaigns against other legit businesses who have dared to speak up against him.

Unfortunately, his campaigns do not stop here. There is more. On a website called selfgrowth.com he poses as a blogger called brad smith. Now if brad smith had written one article about he had nothing but good experiences with wholesale deals then this would not cause many suspicions. But when you dig deeper, our friend brad smith has written not one but 16 different articles defending not only wholesale deals but also esources and as we know from earlier stefano carboni owns both websites. Not only does brad smith defend them but goes as far as stating that everything ever written which is negative about these websites is false. The funny part is that there are replies from people who are not taken in by this who basically call out Carboni and surprise surprise there are no replies from him

Even sites such as trust pilot are not to be trusted as he posts fake reviews on there and campaigns to have real reviews removed. Around 6 months ago there were at least 20 negative reviews on trust pilot but today there are none and all the current reviews have been posted in the last few months.

Many have tried to get their money back through County Court Judgements, however the address he uses is simply a home of PO boxes (27, Old Gloucester Road, London) and he has even been known to claim that he will not pay any judgements as his business is registered in Italy and not the United Kingdom. This is something else he falsely advertises a UK business but he is so proud to say he has traded for the last 10 years from that PO box!

He cannot hide his name, so just google "governement auctions stefano carboni scam" for the real truth!

The governement auctions United Kingdom website is a real eye opener on how this scam started!

Never pay for wholesale information, it's so 2005! Search Free wholesalers on google, they do list everything!

I signed up with a free account, but did not wish to pursue as details were very outdated, broken links, many retail websites, I am now receiving daily emails and telephone calls every other day saying special discounts are available and lifetime offers available if I wish to upgrade to a lifetime purchase. I have said no thank you, but am still getting harassment from a female caller! Reported to ofcom.

james marnley recently changed him s name to james taylor is a scamming scumbag, needs to be of the street, he has scammed me 4000 pounds, has been reported to the police, would recommend anyone elase aswell to report him who has been scammed

I spoken to James regarding this post last week and he said he got scammed by esources a number of years ago!

Best ways to do business now is with a credit card. Luckily I got my money back from esources, just a thought?

Great advice Wendy, always use a credit card and then can charge back if ripped off, No response from social media pages either, no comments or chat with the community, just advertising, very unusual and strange, gut instinct, to avoid as a lot of fake positive reviews about!

Yes this guy is a total crook and he's at it again from a series of different phone numbers and using many different aliases including James Taylor, Kev Waltham, Lisa Matthews, Wendy Smith, Alex Reid, emanuela de tillio and lots of others. Recently he moved to Italy to escape the backlash from his criminal activities and is now hiding there too afraid to come home.

James marnley is back at it again and no calls James Taylor and back to his original tricks of scamming money out of people for non-existent eBay accounts and also wanted all over the UK fraud. He's left the UK now we think for Italy. Still a scumbag and no mistake

This is 100% accurate and he has changed his name several times and now has Alex McDermott and also Lisa Matthews running holes in the UK while he's escape the country. Last time I heard he was walking around Torquay carrying a rape alarm because he has people after him and it serves him right. A proper Crook with a criminal history going back years. He'll be banged up soon enough for sure.
