Hi this is a message to anybody who receives calls from people claiming to be 'UK Business Directory Ltd' For over a year now our customers and even customers who aren't with ourselves have been contacted being told they are up for renewal, they have to pay, even some have been threatened with horrible language and also debt collectors. This is not us...... We will call our existing customers when it is time for renewal but not threatening with court action etc. We have dealt with the police and trading standards in regards to this problem and even though this hasn't ended yet it hopefully it will come to an end very soon. Got the call today as all of the above! Wanting 2nd year renewal. I asked when I had paid them and they said April 1st (the b**tards just make it up - I KNOW I have never paid them or delat with them). I then mentioned we were not coming up on their site anyway, and the response was - oh your on a google account, we make sure you come up at the top of google searches as we area google partner. They SO need to be shut down, robbing businesses blind!

They are at it again.  This company keep coming back in different guises and always ask for £99 to renew the subscription you never had.  Now they are saying that google will send you a card with a pin number on to make sure you stay on page 1 of goole maps. You then have to call them with the pin number and they will activate it for you.  What a pack of lies and of course a way for them to get hold of your credit card details.

Has anyone on here had constant phone calls for a company called UK business directory demanding money for advertising

And then today i get a phone call from a high court sheriff saying they are taking me to court for £ 4,700

They are coming tomorrow to sieze goods

The MD of the company is a guy called steven williams on 07512 844989

they say i paid then £ 99 in 2011 and that was entering into a contract but i have never paid anyone for advertising

any one else had this ??

I have fallen hook line and sinker for this scam
I paid Luke Hendry and his ?company £259 for a lifetime contract , having been promised the earth.
I have had nothing but a listing on their web site ukbusinessdirectoryltd.co.uk - I have even read that this is a bogus site
I have tried to contact people advertising on their site and can't get replies.
UI have cancelled my contract, which according to their web site can be done in 28 days, but they refuse to answer e mails, and i can't get a reply when i have phoned.
Can anyone help me pleas

If you have paid by debit card you have roughly 140 days to report the fraud to your card issuer.

If it's a credit card you have 3 years.

If you have paid by any other method then send a registered letter providing 14 days to return the funds and issue a notice of court action.

Filing a claim through the small claim court is cheap, easy and very successful (even more so against scammers).

The scam appears to have gone to a new level: phone call yesterday (withheld) from a gentleman claiming to be Richard Allen Jones from Ross & Roberts at Bristol county court stating that uk business directory were taking out a high Court claim for £1500 for non payment of renewal fees.  Only chance was to pay in to now to halt the injunction.  A David Stevens from uk recovery services ltd "confirmed" the injunction.  Very scary but hung up and contacted Bristol court ("it's a scam") and action Fraud!
