Don't know the ins and outs of telephone numbers but it seems the true bank number ends with three zeros whereas the message I received end with four zeros.

Yes, I received an iffy looking e-mail from Halifax/Lloyds referring to my 'upcoming transfer to online account'. It happened to go straight into my spambox. However there's always that nagging doubt that it might just be real, especially if you have any financial business with either/both with these companies :don't misunderstand me now, this is the future we have to accept, these institutions have gone well beyond being your friendly little helper by looking after your money nowadays, they are out to screw you as much as anyone else. Well, there you go, what a surprise. Stick it under your mattress and stuff the bloody banks, theyre only there for their own benefit and the people they serve (and that ain't little old you and me pal it's the kids who work for them and spend every night on the lash in the London clubs and holidays in the Bahamas ! Stuff them all !

It is the RBS/Halifax it so happened I was dealing with them and yes it is expensive to call them on this number. If you have any dealings with them make an appointment with them and go to the bank.
