Got a call from this number ten minutes after I got a call from guide dogs australia asking for donations yesterday, took them about 10 seconds to answer me when I said hello, said they were from a charity (I dont remember them saying which one) I said that we're on the do not call register and he said because they are a charity this does not apply to them, told him have a nice day and hung up.

Im sure its fake, I told them there were being recorded and that i am on the DNC list. Once I said I will report them they pulled into line. Telstra needs to cancell their account as Im sure they are a scam.

Yup, just happened to me too.

Probably trying to sell something or, even worse, call may be made on behalf of a charity.

In my experience, the Do Not Call Register is no deterrent to these jokers.

(08) 6225 2083 is SCAM CALLERS from INDIA but because of the 08 in front many people think it is from South Australia or NT as same area code. If you have caller ID on your phone put this number in with name as SCAMMER or DO NOT ANSWER

Survey about Charities, they seemed to know my details, but I soon gave others :).  Asked if I would consider ever donating to various charities, most of which were corporate, and one in particular being extremist, and another claiming to support "women with sexual problems".  I refused all of them. (not wanting future calls to result from this "survey")

this is si annoying surely this operation can be stopped.

I answered and they hung up. There was a lot of noise in the background but not voices.. I am on the do not call register and I get calls like this several times a week.. What's the point of the do not call register if it does nothing :( grrrr

Like other people the number rang and it hangs up when you answer

Got  a call from this number saying that they were a Chinese charity. I asked them for their number which the Chinese accented girl gave me. I did not ring it.

Just got a call from this number. An Indian lady introduced herself as "Rose". Then, in her hard to understand Indian accented English (or is that In-glish), asked me to verify my name and address (this is in the phone book therefore I just confirmed it). She said she was from My Charity Surveys and asked my age (which I stupidly gave her - in hindsight I shouldn't have). She then said this call is being recorded for quality purposes then asked if I would answer a survey. I replied with yes.
Her questions were...
1) Are you happy with the services of Australian Charities - Satisfied, somewhat satisfied or not satisfied.
I answered "Satisfied".
2) Have you heard of the Australian Guide Dogs Association and would you be willing to donate to them? Please answer Yes or No?
I threw her off her spiel when I answered I already donate to Guide Dogs Australia and asked her is that a Yes or No?
She answered thank you for your past donations have a good day.
I tried to reply with "You have a good day too Rose" but never finished before she hung up.

Got a phone call from this number - picked it up and they hung up
