According to the kind people at SayNoTo0870 it is indeed Travelline, where a large number of bus Companies throughout the UK use that same number for customer enquiries.        If you have a look at their website it is possible you might recognise one of the names.              Do you use nextbus.mobi for example?

Hi no, not at all. Cannot fathom how they have got my details unless someone with a very similar number has used the call and my number has got mixed up with it somehow!?!?.

I have 08712002233 listed on my latest Talktalk phone bill.   The call has cost me 0.58p.   What, if anything, can I do to prevent receiving calls from this number?   It is out-and-out fraid, and must be stopped.   Has Oftcom got any plans to put a stop to this?  

Me too! Just had my mobile bill and it has appeared 3 times within the space of 5 mins!  Never called the number!

We have been billed £0.57 for this number. It would appear that the charge is because we answered the phone! I know £0.57 will not break the bank, but someone is making a lot of money out of this and the phone watchdog should be shutting this kind of scam down.

I too have been charged for this number..apparently 10 mins at the cost of £1.87 !!!! i think i would have remembered a call that long !! grrr

I have been called 3 times and my outside allowance is £1.000 I have not called this number but it appears on my phone bill

Have you used a travel app recently?        As the earlier post from Old Mother Riley mentions there are details at saynoto0870.com of a large number of travel Companies using the number to provide timings.     If you did not dial the number could it be a charge through an app?         You do not say where you are based but the list of names on the web site might give you a clue.

Found this 0871 2002233 number on my phone bill.  Haven't a clue who it's to; 3 mins costing almost 77p.

If you take the trouble to read previous posts you will find references to the website  http://www.saynoto0870.com/numbersearch.php   By going there you will find that a large number of travel organisations use that same number to provide information.    Accidentally or deliberately you have called for their information and, if you look at the date of charge, you may well recall the occasion.   See also the post 2 up from your own.

Same as every one else, virgin media charged me for this number ;-( I have never ever called this number, modern day highway robbery, this practice should be stamped on hard by OFCOM, you know who that is dont you??, the dog with the bark but NO BITE,

This is fraudulent! I have been advised by my phone provider that I have called this number which has cost me a fair amount of money. I have never spoken to these fraudsters. How can there be a charge without even answering to them its absurd and has been reported and being investigated!

I too thought that I'd been robbed by some random call to me from a company, but upon further investigation I did actually call this number for help from traveline and its 55p per min which is still expensive but at least I know where its from.

$3.30 on my phone bill with not even even knowing about it and $2.00 last month . Not very happy with your service stop phoning me please. I want $5.30 back please.
