- NSYou don;t have an ADT alam by any chance do you ? I see this and this is the only thing that i can think has changed
- jim| 2 repliesi was just about to add that yes it is because of an adt alaram and the fact that it is linked to police response.it has to test itself every 24hrs and i have just had that confirmed by ADT.sadly they didnt tell us at the time! but atleast i know why it is!
- jimhey for anyone getting these you can avoid it by paying an annual sum of £12 to adt
- KKwhy should you pay £12 per month? We'r paying enough money as it is.Since ADT didn't tell us at the time of singing the contract with them about this cost, we should make a stop on that no.
- peter miniacifound this number on my e bill twice a day about 9secs duration, after much seeking i found out :adt dialer it checks itself, it a facility that can be done without, just ask them [ADT]to take it off.it wont cost you a penny....
- phuntaI get this every night and has cost me £7.52 (plus VAT) in one month already - deducting thsi from my bill, the itemised calls are just £3.47, so this is costing me. I get charged £0.19 (plus VAT) every night at around 03:40. I do have an ADT alarm monitoring system and the charge only started appearing from from 21/10/09, though I have had the system for a lot longer.
- Caller: ADT
- rhea replies to jim| 1 replyoh my gosh!
do you know that this cost me £20 for 4 seconds!
I came on here to check the number then i saw all you talking about adt! i have an adt alarm and i guess that must be the reason! how dare they do this and charge us!!!!!!!!!!!!
im going to complain right now! then i wil block my phone from these numbers! - JazzKhaI got a BT quarterly bill showing that 2500 calls were made to this number, cost of 250 gbp - aboiut 28 calls a day charging 10p a go.
I found out it was ADT (google searched the phone number) and when approached they said it was my fault because I had not responded to some letters that they had sent and therefore because an engineer had not come around to "power down" the system not their responsibility?
I am renting a house and they insist that they had sent letters to the landlord previously asking to power down the system before we arrived - but had not received a response.
This cannot be right surely? - when I moved in we got a new BT telephone line - new number, new account - so I did not authorise these payments and so how are they able to take this money out of my account and charge me?????
Anyone know how to complain / get compensation????- Caller: ADT
- JazzKha replies to rheaHi there - do you know how to complain / get compensation - am out of pocket by 250 gbp
- terry medlicottgot a bill for £30 from bt, googled the number and found out about adt, [***] disgraceful, i already pay near £400 a year to the [***], not any more, theres plenty of alarm companys out there, go [***] yourself adt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- RhysJazzKha - You wont get your money back because its linked to your phone line and the ADT alarm dials out all the time utilising your phone line. This will be in all your user manuals. You should have put a premium rate call barr on the line when u had your first bill
- Caller: adt
- PaulJust got my monthly bill and discover my phone has been dialling this number at 12 midnight consistently with attendant bille charges
- Caller: Depper
- IanSame thing happened to me,I recently purchased a new house and after being there for 5 months I queried my telephone bill as I could not understand why it was higher than before i moved, Then found out it was ADT, ADT did write to me and said they could give me 24hr security for £25 a month, But i ignored the letters as I am not paying £25 a month especially as the house is rarely empty. Over the past five month I found out I have been charged over £50 in calls.
I did a google search and found this place and to say that I have solved the problem by disconnecting the two cables from the telephone socket terminals preventing the alarm system from making call:).- Caller: ADT
- SueI too have just experienced the same problem as a new home owner & a received a hefty BT bill with ADT.
I called the ADT Customer Complaint Department in Manchester & got a FULL refund & an engineer came out FREE OF CHARGE to power down our alarm system. - Ross Adley replies to ziaI had 5 calls in a very short time to this number. It coincides withADT servicing our telephone connected house alarm system
