called me but do not know who it is

who is at this number ?

Our phone bill shows we have been making calls to 08712005090 but I have no knowledge of this number.      We dialed the number only to get a signal which sounded like a fax machine.    As we are being charged at a rate of 6p a minute for these calls we would like to put a stop to it but do not know how to go about it.

Alarm system for your property.

I got around 50 billings for 0871 200 5090 on my last BT bill.A lot while away on holiday.BT say they have no knowledge of number . Any ideas? Graham

I had these calls listed as well on my bill and on further investigation it was when ADT Alarms were testing my monitored alarm system during my annual inspection.

My ADT Alarm has been phoning ADT every morning at 0326hrs. I have been charged 16p for every call. ADT have told me that this is the way that ADT check that my "old" alarm system is without fault. ADT has agreed to change the number called to an 0800 number. However I must pay £1 per month to use this facility. This £1 represents the charge that BT make to ADT to use the 0800 number.

Ah yes! This works for ADT but if you have an even older system ie one of the original BT systems
taken over by ADT there is no facility for an 0800 number. We outcasts have to live with the 16p a call!

I have just found out that over the last couple of days, ADT has been doing a systems check every 10 minutes. So far that is 175 calls and counting. We had this problem a while ago and ADT put us on a free phone number for the check but it seems that they have gone back to a premium rate number again without telling us.

ADT are scammers !!!! they have been robbing us for months without telling us when they shouldn't have been charging us for these ridiculous test calls twice a day for over 3 months that are pretty much impossible to cancel and when you do cancel they start charging again a week later, they are a scam company !!!!

How do I stop ADT charging to check my line on 08712005090?

Have had about 11 calls made from my line to this number. I do not have an ADT alarm but it did sound like a fax machine, when I dialed the number to try and find out to whom the number belonged. I have contacted my phone provider but, because it is not a premium number, they cannot block this number for outgoing calls. How do they use my line and who is making money from this. I consider anyone using my line without permission is stealing from me.

Yes it is ADT - so the only way of resolving this is to contact them directly and trying to get a resolution
