I have had the pleasure of 3 calls from this 'company'.  As our phone number is listed under my wife's maiden name (Telstra havent bothered to update the phone book for 10 years!), I am immediately suspicious of anyone enquiring after Mr or Mrs Smith.  My wife took the fist (2 weeks ago) call and when she said she was not Mrs Smith, the caller called her a lair, to which my wife took exception and hung up.  They called back within 30 seconds and I took the call. I listened to the speil about the danger to my PC before laughing telling the caller I thought he was pulling my leg.  At this point he launched into a verbal tirade calling me mother f****r among other things before hanging up. I guess the call wasn't being recorded for training purposes

Tonight I received a 3rd call from 365PC Support.  This time I asked questions.  They told me they were located in Westpac House, 91 King William Street, Adelaide.  As I know Adelaide reasonably well I persisted with questions.  I asked which floor they were on (Westpac House has 31 Floors - Adelaides biggest building housing several companies) and was told they owned it all. I asked which other road the building faced and he told me to look it up (obviously becoming frustrated).  I kept him on the line for 17 minutes asking qusetions and having a general chat.  This time his name was Nathan and he was Portuguese.  He likes beer and whiskey, but not grass or hash. We discussed night clubbing, horses and match fixing.  I asked him where he lived and he said Heaven.  I think he had had enough of me.

Yes this call 0872000365 still coming from "Microsoft" - today twice they called my aunty. Ryan Williams, and someone DeCosta claiming there were a number of errors to be fixed, and could she please go to this website and enter in a code allowing them to access her computer. Repeatedly said "This is not a scam ma'am, how can I prove to you that this is not a scam" - trying to reassure her of course.

Well I guess it's working somewhere or they wouldn't keep doing it.

Call type: attempted fraud or scammer, that should really be an option, but telemarketer is close enough.

unfortunately i to was called by this lady daisy who said my computer full of viruses and then put me on to her supervisor pamela who i believe was the same lady with indian accent...I feel silly not to listen to my instincts i gave permission to go into my computer and look for viruses...my technician was shane waugh they say i need to buy there antiviruse for $260 for two years...i am suppose to call them back on monday after i speak to my husband..

all the same claims, I hung up on him after 5 or so minutes, This is the second call we have had from these people.

Same call today. As I am a PC tech who has clients who have been scammed by these types of calls, I was quite interested to listen to the spiel.

There was no real onformation in the call just lots of words malware, viruses, windows etc. When they stated that these things "couldn't be removed" I asked "well how can you remove them then?" they replied "because we are technicians", to which I had a little chuckle. I had to leave so I got their number to call them back.

I might call them back at get their logmein account info if I can and report them to logmein, maybe they will shutthem down?

There must be somewhere this can be reported to. The number 087200365 is an Australian PSTN number, it may be redirected O/S, but surely it can be shutdown from this end.

it was KEVIN SMITH callin me up saying that my computer is having some [***], then he transferred the call to ANDY WILLIAMS to take the money out of me for fixing up a very good going computer, he gave his call back number as 0872000365. computer users please be aware of KEVIN SMITH & ANDY WILLIAMS.

this is a criminal/scamming group operating frm india saying that they are calling from SA Adelaide,
their actual location is india, west bengal, kolkata, 700026, Spectrum Linxys. the number 0872000365 is just a skype number, if anyone else looking at this beware and try to take steps against them. Their biggest scammer is Andy Williams, beware of him as well

It would appear that people simply don't learn from others mistakes.

It would appear that my significant other half has today received a phone call of the same nature; but being somewhat savy told the operator that "Microsoft don't call me for a virus & gave him an earful before he even got the chance to say anything" ... Good for her !

I have to say, in all honesty, this is possibly one of the easiest scams I've heard of. There is very little effort for much gain, and nearly all the effort is on the person who is paying for the service.

Whether you like it or not, they contact you and provide duff information about your computer - okay the only crime so far is "the claim that they are a Microsoft affiliated company" - claiming that you have a virus. You answer the phone, listen in shock and horror then agree to this helpful techie who will cure all your ills and fix your computer so that it runs very quickly. The only thing that he, or she, asks for is your credit card information; and behaving like a lamb being led to the slaughter you happily provide it.

The techie then connects to your computer shuffles a couple of files around & says that you are cured ! - NOW this is the beauty of the scam. How many times have you given your machine to a techie and received it back the way you like it - not many I guess.

The reality is you need to prove that they have committed a crime, in that they have been fraudulent, or installed invasive software upon your machine (virus, trojan, pin-pricked your firewall to allow erroneous communication). The onus is upon you the poor sapp who agreed to allowing them to connect to your computer in the first place and happily presented your credit card details to prove that they have damaged your machine.

Being honest, they don't need to download anything to steal your banking details; you've given it to them, and several calls being charged at £199 is enough to keep them happy; but a few more calls to the happy suckers out there with a drastically reduced rate of £69 if you pay now also works

In the words of that Russian MeerKat, life iz simples - don't agree to accept support from someone you don't know ... Microsoft only ring you when you call them with a case number .... if you happen to give your credit card out to someone based in India, China, Malaysia or Outer Mongolia then it's your problem and not really something the bank is interested in .... it don't get much easier than that. Simples

i just had a phone call from the same "company". the guy i spoke to was named "Harry D'coaster" who after alot of questioning, still proceeded to try and convince me he was apart of a legit company. i did accidently hang up on him but called him back on the number he provided me with. when he answered how ever, he answered with a HELLO. a legit company would have said something like... "hello microsoft {blah blah blah}, Harry speaking how can i help you?" phone company protocol i think. he then asked me some questions i know legit companies wouldn't. ex. are you married? who does that! after telling this guy i couldn't afford this he was very forceful and pushy as to why i couldn't buy it. he did get to control one of my computer's and hope it's not an on going thing! who is it we talk to about this problem because now i am becoming paranoid about this.

Just got same call. Guy now calling himself Gerard from Logix.Same phone no.Told him I thought he was a scam.

I had a call today from them.

Claim everything to you, to get you on-board.

Everything they are doing is legitimate process wise "BUT", they are selling you a service at a fee of $350 - $500. To give you 'multi-year' cover of some sort.

The software they use show that there "MAY" be errors with your PC, these are just scan results, not actual bugs. Also vulnerabilities that you PC has.

They will then take you to a paypal processing page, where they will process a C.C payment from you.

You may talk to several different call center people, however the result is the same.

This provider is a SCAM, please be weary of it.

If they do have remote access to your PC, disconnect your internet (turn off modem, or unplug cable), They would have used softare like LogMeIn rescue to connect to your PC. This is generally a only once off connection, and it is legitimate software as many businesses I know use it. They are just taking advantage of trials etc to use it when they can get a sale.

The software that install of your PC eg IObits WIndowscare v2, is proper software, however it is 3years old. This can just be uninstalled from your PC. However, i am unsure if they have modified it.

Conclusion:
Please be cautious with anyone that communicates with you that you do not know, you might be being scammed.
