Refund/Call Back scam with automated message.

08 7200 4757 Automated called claiming they will be charging me $200+ but if I press 1, I’ll get a refund...

Received a call from 0872004757 and also +1261756414811 claiming to be from Ebay saying someone had made an account using my phone number and to prevent over $200 coming out of my account I had to follow their instructions on my phone to stop the order from going through and cancel the fake account.

Automated call claiming I’ll be charged $249 unless I call the given number.

Scam. Left an automated message saying they were from ebay and would debit $249 unless I hadn't made the purchase, press 1 to talk to someone etc. Then it gets confusing as they said if I didn't do anything the refund would go through. I'm happy to have $249 refunded when I didn't pay it in the first place. :-)

I received call saying a person in China had created an eBay account using my identity and was seeking to place an order of $249.99 value with a card linked to my phone number. The caller, who had an accent from the Sub-Continent, purported to be a staff member from eBay and told me I must go online to cancel the order and dismantle the account. He could not do that without me going online. So I told him I'd call back in 30 minutes from a public library computer, as I didn't have internet at home or on my mobile. Instead I went to my bank to seek advice on how to protect my card just in case.
