Charterhouse Wealth offer to reduce the risk of care fees through the use of a trust, the rules that govern the local authority state that in some circumstances a person will be treated as owning or possessing an asset even when they don’t actually own it because they have “deprived” him or herself of the asset in order to reduce the care home charge.  Therefore, if the local authority can prove that the significant reason for making the transfer was to reduce your liability to pay for your own care home fees, then they may still either charge the recipient of the asset or register a charge against the property. If you use a company like this that advertises that this is what it does, then you are showing intent, thereby voiding any benefit in using the company in the first place, unless you lied. Even if you got away with it, the care home provided would be decided by the local authority, so you would not be able to choose the care home. Yes Charterhouse Wealth looks is a scam operation, just look at the website. David Hargreaves has more dissolved companies behind him than I have had hot dinners - just check companies house or duedil.com. His Blue Sky company that reclaimed PPI has also had its licence revoked by the Ministry of Justice. And that is just the tip of the iceberg ;-)

Just checked the reclaims website out, so they're still allowed to advertise the PPI side then, even though suspended. Looks like an established company, Have you had problems with them then, just wondering with you saying tip of the iceburg. The charterhouse website looks homemade and amateurish, this one looks professional.
