I have received calls from this number some 25-30 times over a period of 3 weeks during the autumn of 2009. They did not leave any message. Normally hung up after a few seconds. When I finally talked to them they confirmed that it was on behalf on the Economist. It has now started again and they have called approx 10 times over the last 4-5 days. Extremely unpleasant experience.

I'm from Spain and I hace received 2 calls from this number. It sounds like an answerphone trying to sell some kind of subscription or service...
The answerphon told me that if I wanted to decline more calls I had to press the number one and then spell my name and other information. Obviously I hung up the phone...
It's very, very unpleasant!!

Hi from Spain too.
I've received 3 calls from this number saying they are from The Economist. The guy knew my name, my e-mail address and the date the subscription was going to end. He offered me to renew the subscription by phone with a 30€ disccount bonus but I declined when being asked for my credit card number.
I've reviewed Economist.com website and I've found I even did not give them permission to contact me by e-mail so the calls seems to be a fraud...

They have called 3x today, first call a male with a heavy accent asked for someone in the office, but pronounced the name so poorly it was almost unrecognizable - they were NOT put through. 2nd and 3rd call they just listened for a few seconds and then hung up. Whatever reason they are calling, we will NOT be doing business with them. Annoying people!

Same thing in China, got 7 calls in one single day and I didn't answer.

You can simply ban this number to avoid such annoying thing happen again.

Long pause then a lady gave me my name and address.  Told her i was hanging up as she called at 21hrs 03mins.  Then I hung up.
I thought it was illegal to do this!

Who is this and why are they calling me all the time?
