This indian sounding guy called me asking to speak to my partner about a personal bussiness matter, I asked the guy on the phone if he could tell me anything about why he was calling and after a long pause he said that he couldnt, i said ok he paused again for a really long time then asked if i could take a message and he gave me the number so i googled it because it seemed really dodgy.

just forget these guys, simply throw the [***] in the bin. I was temted to call them and give them [***], but it's not worth it...

Who the hell are these people?

I have been contacted 5 times in the last 3 weeks. Even when I say 'I know who you guys are' she says 'we are not spam'

How do I stop them calling?

it is D&B debt collections. they collect large ranges of unpaid bills ranging from utilities to consultancies bills. They are pretty big hence outsourcing to India I guess. I suppose it is correct they cannot disclose any personal infor until they identify you. I guess next time just asked what sort of bills they are chasing.

I got the same message this morning so it's still happening folks!

BEWARE: I did recently late pay an electricity bill and was threatened with the matter being taken further because I took so long to pay.  I paid the amount on the lawyer letter with final warning so the balance is now $0 and no debt exists. I paid this 5-7 business days ago. Despite this I received the text message which I'm sure is linked.  These [***] aka the scammers are getting fed our private details from either the electricity company or the debt collectors hired to chase late payments etc.Or are they hacking into a weak system which contains all our private details? Either way, this is illegal and in breach of Privacy laws. If anyone has the time and energy, please pursue this further with Consumer Affairs Vic or relative state department as no doubt some people are getting caught out and falling victim to this illegal activity / SCAM.

who the hell are you??? i,m getting calls on my phone 4 my husband... been told he has to ring back. when i asked who they are they wouldnt tell me. only saying its a private matter. i'm his wife and nothings private here. Find the right number MR INDIAN an leave me alone

yes as said above, its a debt collection agency, not a scam ... dunn and bradstreet are a legitimate business used by most companies for debt recovery, phone bills electricity etc etc .. chances are all of you really do have something outstanding

Guys it is a debit collector company Origin Energy use them to collect money from people who dont pay their electricity bill. It isnt a scam lolz

They rang me too...then wanted ME to AUTHENTICATE to them WHO I was. Hahahaha...this site is a great idea.

these [***] are leaving messages pretending they are Dunn & Bradsheet and ask you to URGENTLY respond the 1300 number.  We responded and some Indian voice answered asking for fullname and so on.  We didnt let the call go much further because such scum of the earth got no respect for their fellow human beings.  In the end all they want is bank details and ID.  Such deviants of the world have now reached the shores of Australia all the way from Nigeria and Somalia.
Dont fall for it.  It is surprising authoroties have traced the number yet and chopped balls off these people, but then the person I spoke to was a girl.

A man speak indian English said I have $290  power bill that overdue.  And ask me to pay by credit card.

Also this number is not listed on their website. Their number is a 13 ** ** or a 9828 **** number not a 1300  number.

I thought so, but they have insisted today, it is now the second day they've called me. In same manner as everyone else... with urgency!!! Both callers had Indian accents, ringing from 1300 003 894, quoting reference a number... Thanks to this website and further search I've done on Google I can now feel more relax about it and ignore the busters. Never the less, don't give out your private information to anyone calling you, they trying to still your identity.

they also  rang here trying to tell my partner she had outstanding phone bill wich we know was paid just ask them for there number and you will get back to them or ask them to ring another number like the locsl police station with the number you give them
