- Kateseems like we have the same problem, $6.60 x 3 on June 10 on telstra account all at the same time. about to try and contact telstra and block the number on our mobile. yeah, pays to check the bill with a fine tooth comb!
- marc replies to gotme2telstra will help you they just blocked it from accesing my number and credited me the charge . it was for $94.50 .telstra were very nice and helpful about it all.
- RhodeAnother victim of this ridiculous scheme - $55. Calling Telstra today to see if I can be reimbursed. Called 1300 136 616 to unsubscribe - should stop all future charges from them.

- BenThis is a scam - they got me too. for $80. Each time they send three of the same messages within seconds of one another - each of the three costs $6.60. The messages offered no option to request they stop or a phone number to ring. I was not aware of the cost until I receive my Telstra bill which quoted a number to ring to stop the messages - I did so and they seem to have stopped - emailed the ombudsman who hen advised Telstra - Telstra undertook to reverse the charges today - so I await the credit to my account - I propose to escalate this further with the Ombudsman as its a blatant Scam. Telstra advises in future to SMS back the word STOP when confronted with this type of issue.

- Big Mean BuggerWell, I have just checked my current Telstra account and what should I find but a section showing
"Third Party Purchases" between 12th & 15th July 2013 for $30.50 !
Interesting to note that all charges were at the same time and from a company I have never heard of ?
Contacted Telstra to complain about these unauthorised charges after finding hundreds of other people had similar issues with this company "Open Market Pty Ltd at Potts Point, Sydney.
These calls were coming from a number 1994 8844 so look out !
Telstra have now credited my account, locked off my mobile against this number and recommended I also contact this number and SMS the word "STOP".
This is a huge SCAM. How is this company still in business - Telstra needs to shut it down.- Caller: Open Market Pty Ltd

- F. EdupHi - I have been scammed too. Rang telstra who blocked the texts once I realised what was happening. My electronicly received phone bill went missing in cyber space too somehow . I received a late notification and incurred additional costs from telstra for an overdue account . Telstra told me to call Open Market to be refunded ? Was effectivley fobbed off by OM and told to call 'Mobile Broomestick' - guess what they are based in Singapore 1300881163. The woman I sppoke to was pretty rude and of course didnt offer to help , refund etc. She insisted I had registered on line and replied via text to confirm my subscription. This is absolute rubbish.I am seeking advice from consumer affairs.

- Jakartaboy replies to G MThese calls are from the company Openmarket Pty Ltd - ABN 98108798223. They run scams in which they send unwanted premium SMSs which were not requested to people and charge them $6.60 for this 'service'.
If you have been scammed in this way firstly contact your phone company and tell them to bar premium SMS content. This will stop the scam SMSs. When you speak to your phone company tell them that you refuse to pay for the Openmarket SMSs. The phone company will probably agree to withdraw any such charges and may refund charges which you have already paid. If they are not prepared to do this, complain to the Telecommunications Obudsman and you will probably get your phone company changing their mind. - Jakartaboy replies to G MThese calls are from the company Openmarket Pty Ltd - ABN 98108798223. - BPAs the same as the rest of you. 4 calls same day same time. I contact Telstra and was advised to call 1800 852 324 to cancel the subscription I had not subscribed to in the first place. After asking to speak to a supervisor I have been credited with the call charges.

- mackI received 3rd party charges all within 1 minute for a total of $10.49 I am on the phone to telstra as I am typing this and using some of the advise as above:
SMS baring
refusing to pay the $10.49
will go to the supervisor then communication ombudsman if not a satisfactory outcome
and also to the police as this is just plain theft wrapped up as a billing issue
I will not be communicating with Open Market because this is an issue with telstra billing- Caller: open market pty
- MaggieI was scammed for third party services with calls over 3 days amounting to $99.50. Telstra has blocked the number from my phone and unsubscribed me from the service.

- SianWe recently received the same nonsense of 3rd party charges from (Dialogue Communications) though they were using a 1900 number the amount was amount $99.50 and apparently a further $66.00 for the next bill. The girl at Telstra told us it was the above mentioned company but it may have been the others you have previously mentioned as they just seem to be changing their name and ABN number to avoid permanent scrutiny. The issue I have is that we only have a contract with Telstra and not 3rd party scam companies yet Telstra is collecting revenue on their behalf knowing they are fraudsters. She replied they are not collecting revenue on behalf of them and that they actually pay (DC) for their charges then charge us. So Telstra knowingly perpetuate this long running scam.
After a long and heated discussion the assistant said she would cancel our service, to which I replied you will then be in breach of your contract with me as I have honoured my contract with Telstra as regards to payment for their service. I then let her know we would not be paying a red cent to these fraudsters and let her also know we will be going to the (Telecommunications Ombudsman) then the necessary MP's followed by the papers. I then asked for the supervisor and he/she was in a meeting, not long after this the charges were to be scrapped. This scam from what I can see from the threads has been running since at lest 2004 maybe longer. Where is the (Federal Telecommunications Minister) in all of this and why haven't they legislated changes to stop this as they would be getting more than their fair share of feedback from the Telecommunications Ombudsman.
Things to Chase up:-
1. What is Telstra's real relationship with these fraudulant enterprises.
2. Why hasn't the Telecommunications Minister actually stepped in to stop these activities long ago.
3. Why hasn't the TIO made this well known to the Minister given this huge case load.
4. Since they are going to monitor us via data retention laws why cant they use this to prosecute these fraudulent enterprises.
With big business always screaming about too much red tape and regulations, you can expect much worse to come down the track under the guise of "Big Society" via the so called "Free Market" watch out peoples unless you get out of the couch and stamp up and down these will be the least of your problems.- Caller: Dialogue Communications
