Report a phone call from 1611 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- gary| 2 repliesI just did today from +1611
- JackRecorded voice claims that an ATT account has been suspended, and starts prompts to reverse this. Seemed like a scam so I hung up.
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BrittanyThis number calls and says "to reactivate your online account press 1" but I have no accounts offline. Has to be a scam. It's calling my office line and not my cell which makes even more suspect because I only have that number connected to my business which has even fewer "accounts".
- Dawn| 1 replyI got a call tonight. Same as above. Scammer saying my AT&T account was suspended due to suspicious activity and I should enter all this information to reactivate it. I hung up.
- Caller: Scammer
- LisaSame as above but my accounts are fine. Funny how the number shows up on my caller ID as 1611, seeing as how at&t has a 611 number I can call for help on my account.

- karensame experience 1611 number called on my cell... all my accounts are fine. obviously a scam

- diana| 1 replyI kept getting the same recording and hanging up. It called back 5 times. Voice of what sounded to me like a woman from India or Pakistan. It happened early in the morning so I didn't want to bother anyone by calling them to see if the phone worked, so I waited until my husband got up then called the house. Worked fine.

- ANNOYED| 1 reply***BE AWARE*** Caller was a pre-recorded (probably artificial) voice, identifying themselves as AT&T, that your account was disconnected, and advising you to press 1 to reactivate.
The con is getting slicker by the day!
The caller ID will show 611 (+1611 in my case), which makes it appear if you're receiving a call from the carrier. FYI, if you don't already know, 611 is infact the service number for most carriers, dialing it will connect you through your mobile carrier's customer service. But do not be fooled by this call! In fact, if your account was disconnected or deactivated, you probably wouldn't be getting any service in the first place, and wouldn't be able to place or receive calls either. You'd probbaly already be on the phone with your carrier, not the other way around.
Also, if your carrier is trying to get a hold of you for a legitimate reason, they'll likely leave you an actual message, advising you to call customer service. You know your account, and you know if your account has a problem, don't let these fools con you.- Caller: NOT AT&T

- Kans replies to dianaDefinitely did not sound as from India. It sounded to me like from Europe.
- Paul| 2 repliesI also revived many calls from this +1611 number. Today I tried to see what would happen. It asked for the last 4 of my account, I entered 0000 or then asked for my account pin, again 0000, then it asked for my last 4 of my social again I put 0000. It then said your account has been reactivated and hung up. So it is entirely a scam

- FredthecatGot same recorded call stating it was AT&T and suspicions activity was reported on my line. Asked me to press 1- I didn’t and called and reported it to ATT
- annoyed1The +1611 number called my phone today. The number suggests some sort of filter being used on their number. Also an automatic message that starts recording before voicemail kicks in, so I'm not sure what the full message was.

- JD replies to DawnI received a recorded message from 1611 saying my AT&T account was frozen due to suspicious activity and information was requested to reactivate it. I hung up and dialed the number and Metro PCS answered and claimed to have no knowledge of the call. SCAM!!!
