just had a phone call from this number so i answered it and they hung up so i searched the number on google and found this site

I have just got a call from this number (05.11.07). I picked up, heard background noice but nobody said anything and they hung up. Weird.

Yep Im on vodafone too. Got the phone from phones 4u. SOooooo glad my contract is up next month and I can get a new phone and new number and get rid of these [***] that keep calling. Thanks for the info guys.

Yeah been getting consistent calls from this number made the mistake of answering once said they were calling on behalf of phones for you, and vodafone, they wasnt aware i had already upgraded been bothering me still nonetheless, would like to know where these guys are calling from and how they got my number

Just had a call from this number and thought it looked suspicious so typed the number into google and this came up! Glad I did! I'll just ignore them now! Thanks all!

It's a fones 4 U, call centre in Stoke on Trent. Selling new monthly contracts

just got a call from this number. I picked it up, but no one at the other end. I tried phoning the number back (as I hate not knowing who rings...) and there was just a beeping noise at the other end....

I got my phone from phones4u, that's probably how they have the numbers. Thanks for reporting it!

I got a call from this number claiming to be Phones 4 U and told them I didn't have time to speak. I then got at least 1 call a day for the next 2 weeks until I finally picked up.
I asked how I know they weren't a scam and so they told me all my details, even what store I 1st bought my contract from, the date, time and even name of the person who sold me the contract!!!!
They then offered me a new phone, cheaper deal and £140!!! All I had to do was give them my credit card details, and they read back my sort code and account number to 'prove' it wsn't a scam. When I said no they were just plain rude and condescending. Everyone knows hackers can get these details from spyware etc!
DEFINATELY IGNORE THIS NUMBER!!!

To be honest I had a call from this number on Mon evening, when I asked who they were as has been mentioned they said Phones 4U head office.  Alarm bells started ringing in my head and so I thought I would check it out.  I rang the a number to Phones 4U taken from their website and asked them if this number was one of their head office numbers.  They did confirm that it was and it was not a scam number.  Make of that what you wish.  However as a Administrator on www.penaltyactiongroup.co.uk and also an Assistant Moderator on www.consumercreditsupport.co.uk I like to check out things like this.

I will do some more digging and if anything turns up will get back to you.

Just like everyone else my contract is nearing an end. I received a phone call from these guys last week when I was at work. Guy was very persistent I speak to him, told him I was due in a meeting, he then told me I could be a little late as it was going to save me loads of money. I firmly told him "but will it save me my job if they sack me??!! I've had a call every day since funnily enough, during work time!! It's really starting to annoy me. If I want to renew my contract with them, I will ring them when I'm ready!
The normal reason you get no response once you've answered is because they have the software to dial multiple numbers and it maybe that either someone has answered just before you or there is a delay connecting the two lines.

I have received between 2 and 10 calls a day from this number,  always whilst I am at work,  I have to remember to put my phone on silent and it is extremely annoying.  I have never answered to them as I knew it would be nonsense but I am keen to stop it.  Any suggestions?

Had more than 10 calls from this number so far the first time a man said he was from phones 4 u and tried very hard to get me to sell them my contract, had 5 calls yesterday, have been dismissing them but just had another today and so fed up I answered, but nothing but background noise.  Getting very anoyed with fishing my phone out of my trouser pocket for no reason, only wish there was a way to block incoming calls from unwanted numbers!!

i had a call from this number, they knew my name and asked what network and i am on, and then pretended that they need my security details etc in order to check my account and give me a new offer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting on my nerves 12 calls in 2 days is ridiculous!!! I'm on 02 will they help?
