Received a call from this number saying Wells Fargo was calling me and I should call back.  I did
and they answered Wells Fargo and asked if I wanted English or Spanish and then proceeded to
ask for my bank account # which I did not give.  I pressed the operator key but they just kept saying
they didn't understand my account # so I hung up.

Exactly! This bill is my ex-husband's bill. We are divorced and he does not live here. Yet, they will call me five and six times in a row multiple days every week for months. I key in that this is not the correct number for him. They tell me to stay on the line and call 800-241-0028. I call this number and they want the account number. I don't even know the account number. So I hang up. Then they continue to call and call and call. They are so rude! This is harassment, plain and simple!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to respect Wells Fargo. Now, I am closing my checking, savings, and my daughter's savings account because I want nothing to do with them and their crappy service and and disrespect for people. It's too bad because the local tellers are nice and have such great customer service!

I work in an office and this number keeps coming up on my caller ID 3 or 4 times a day.  there is never anyone on the line when i pick up.  it's really starting to make me angry.  if it is wells fargo then they should ID themselfs.  our business doesn't bank with them, i don't bank with them.  if they are calling one of our 27 employees they should put a real person on the phone.

Maybe if you guys would pay your bills, they wouldn't be calling :) it's the collection department of WF.
ALSO- if you don't want anymore calls, simply say so and the reps will remove it, plain and simple.
It's also not harassment- they are authorized by law to call out to a number 2-3 times a day, unless they leave a message.

Your husband or yourself must have put your number on the acct and if your name is affiliated with the acct, they have every right to reach out to you. I have worked in that department and that's just how it goes.

Wells Fargo calls my direct office extension every day, multiple times a day. The individual they are seeking is no longer employed at the agency. It is very annoying because I work in an office with a high client volume. I can have approximately 50 weekly calls or messages on my voicemail box with 15-20 being Wells Fargo. This isn't counting weekends when my office is closed. The solution would be to inform my employer that I would like a different phone number because this number was given to a lender by an old employee. If you have a situation like mine, maybe this would be the best answer.

I got calls on my Google Voice number, which no one but a couple family members has. It's a scam, it's not Wells Fargo. I don't have any debt, so debt collectors would not be calling me.

I agree.  They started calling my cell a week ago.  They never leave a message.  I have never done any business with Wells Fargo, so there is no way this is a valid phone call.  Either they have the wrong phone number or this is a scam.
