it's called call spoofing,  and for some reason it is legal for them to use a non-existant phone number to fool you into answering it.

This number called but I did not answer.

Thanks to  this post I now know NOT to answer this call again.  I answered before looking it up and since there was a long pause, I did not wait until someone responded. Thanks to everyone for posting so I know not to answer next time.

This is a telemarketer, or otherwise unwelcome caller.

Same as others, rude asking you to start you computer.

When asked what company..they hung up. Next time I will hit *57 (Cableone) and Cableone will trace back the location for Cableone tech. They can block the number from the entire system and take further actions if needed.

A caller identifying himself as 'Brad' stated a computer from my address was sending some sort of signal and needed to be cleaned immediately. He was of course willing to walk me through it step by step. When I asked where he was calling from he stated Cyber Support and became frustrated. I then hung up on him.

This number called me twice in a 5 minute span. First time I was on the line and didn't use call waiting. I then hung up and it started ringing again immediately. I have caller ID and if it's not anyone I know, i let it go to voicemail. They just hung up afterwards.
