another call that they say they work for microsoft, I have security problem and they need to take control of computer to fix. I ask which computer are they referring to, they start to get a little flustered, they say they work for microsoft; I asked "do you kiss your mother with that mouth" I am cussed out, I started laughing and hung up

Guy called. Said his name is Dave. (Sounded Pakistani or Indian, with a lot of background, call center kind of noise.) He said something about Microsoft (like maybe he's working for them - yeah, right!) and that my computer's infected.  He was mostly sort of polite, except when he said something about inserting a certain male body part into my mouth - uh, no thanks!  I ignored it, as if I didn't catch it, and proceeded to quiz him about this incredible information about my computer.  No way was I going to turn on my computer for him!
He eventually said the company is Cyber Support and their toll free number (yeah, as if I'm gonna call these guys and turn my computer over to them) is 800-345-6007. I Googled that number and it came up on countless seemingly unrelated sites, like maybe they're the publisher of everyone's technical manuals?  Clever, Dave, very clever!

Same story about virus on computer... and they keep calling...  Total Scam

it's called call spoofing,  and for some reason it is legal for them to use a non-existant phone number to fool you into answering it.

This number called but I did not answer.

Thanks to  this post I now know NOT to answer this call again.  I answered before looking it up and since there was a long pause, I did not wait until someone responded. Thanks to everyone for posting so I know not to answer next time.

This is a telemarketer, or otherwise unwelcome caller.

Same as others, rude asking you to start you computer.

When asked what company..they hung up. Next time I will hit *57 (Cableone) and Cableone will trace back the location for Cableone tech. They can block the number from the entire system and take further actions if needed.

A caller identifying himself as 'Brad' stated a computer from my address was sending some sort of signal and needed to be cleaned immediately. He was of course willing to walk me through it step by step. When I asked where he was calling from he stated Cyber Support and became frustrated. I then hung up on him.

This number called me twice in a 5 minute span. First time I was on the line and didn't use call waiting. I then hung up and it started ringing again immediately. I have caller ID and if it's not anyone I know, i let it go to voicemail. They just hung up afterwards.
