no, i dont work for medco - but since most of you are checking to see what debt collector is calling you today - which is why i searched the number - i thought i would add that.

This number has called me multiple times a day for the past 2 weeks. Every time I have answered they hang up and they never leave a message. It is frustrating, please stop calling. I'm on a do not call list, I don't take prescription medications, I never give any information over the phone so it is a waste of time trying.

Got a call from this number for the first time today.  Read the comments on a bunch of different websites about this number.  Then realized the call must be directly related to what happened to me yesterday:

I called in to cancel a mail order service (Proactiv, to be exact).  After pressing the obligatory numbers to talk to a service representative, the representative answered: "Hello _____! (My name)."   I thought this was curious but went about cancelling my subscription.  At the end of the call, the representative asked for my phone number, saying they didn't have it in their records.  I asked, "Then how did you know my name?" and she answered that sometimes the number "rolls off" my account and sometimes they can see it and sometimes they can't.  Despite that being the sketchiest explanation in the history of telephone transactions, I stupidly gave her my number.   Lo and behold, I get a "Medco" call the next day.  I have a feeling that Proactiv, and probably a lot of other companies, sell information like phone numbers to a plethora of other companies, and having me re-state my number constituted some sort of consent.  In the future, when someone asks me for my number, I'll always ask them why they need it and if I can opt out.

This is indeed one of the Medco Mail Order Prescriptions contact numbers.    

Just like with any other large organization, there are multiple phone numbers tied to an entity.  I work for a fairly large insurance provider divided into multiple divisons.  When I make calls from my phone at the office, the company phone number appears on the Caller ID read-out, NOT our toll free number, NOT my direct line, NOR extension here at the office.  

They do robo-call, and that leads to phone calls to the same number at around the same time of day.  It is highly unlikely due to the nature of their calls to leave a voicemail.  They are dealing with SENSITIVE, PERSONAL health information, take some time and look up 'HIPAA'.  If there were to leave a message about your medications at an incorrect phone number, they could be sued.  

I have dealt with Medco Mail Order for over 5 years now and it's saved me hundreds of dollars.  We've had only two issues in the past but nothing compared to what's posted here.  Any new prescriptions are faxed from my doctors office.  The pills are shipped and a bill is included with the medications, never pay up front.

who called me

I have received many calls from this number. When I answere they hng up. I received one call at 2:30 this morning and another at 6:30AM and again at 9:45AM.

The called me around 6 PM Pacific time. Didn't leave a message, figured if it was important enough they would leave a message. I'm tired of getting these kind of calls - seems like signing up for insurance and prescription drug plans shouldn't mean subjecting its customers to harassment and annoyances like this.

Medco Pharmacy is legit. They take care of all my prescriptions and are connected to Blue Cross. They usually call at nite too because that's when people are home.

From reading previous notes, this number sounds sketchy.  There has to be some way to take action and get them to stop calling us.  I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know, but I also shouldn't have to put up with 5 calls a day.  I might write to the attorney general as someone else suggested...  or you could try putting yourself on the DoNotCall registry (google it - it worked for my home phone).

You can always ask your doctor to write a prescription for 90 days. I did.
They cover. Why to send? Yes, they call very often. If the client doesnot want to respond to their
offer, why to push? It is annoying.

I called this number back because the person who called was rude on the phone. Would not tell me what the call was about or leave a message. When I called back to complain...I got a very nice lady, Rosalee, and I explained why I called and she apologized and I requested she take our number off their mailing list because we did not want to go with the mail in prescriptions. She did and said she would report this guy who called me to a supervisor.

For me it is the same MO for these shysters. Late afternoon calls, no messages. HOWEVER, the calls began after I sent in a Request For Coverage form for one of my prescripts including a copy of my Dr.'s prescription. It is bad enough to have to take chemical allopathic medicines as it is, but I sure as ^%#* do not want to purchase them from this annoying, soliciting controlling Big Pharma pharmacy. I am OPSEC savvy so NO ONE who does not identify themselves or who does not put anything writing will EVER get my personal data. And here is the kicker - since Jan. 2013 there is a whole list of non-controlled meds that neither United nor Medco will cover any longer. This clever tactic is a 2-pronged effort for them to get your business in place of your familiar pharmacies that you trust, AND to mine your data, know your demographic, usage, type of med (read - know your diagnosis! which is against all HIPPA laws) and to find you in the event you do not pay your bill to them as you lay dying. Now, imagine how these sly, corporate machinations will accelerate after Obamacare kicks in......

Interesting that ever since I starting getting prescriptions thru Medco/Express RX, I'm getting similar out-of-state calls like some of you guys have. I've never had any problems with orders, so I have no idea what their need is to make incessant phone calls if it is truly them. I think Medco is full of it because all these odd calls started at the same time I began using Medco. I call total BS on their claim to not give out/sell customer info. So why do 95% of the posts I've seen on this site and a few others all point to Medco... Medco claims its not them... So how is it NOT possible Medco is not giving out our personal info to a third party for telemarketing?!?!

This number-201-891-1029, is in fact from Medco who now represents Express-scripts and most likely other companies. I received a call from them today and spoke to them, they were informing me of an order placed by my doctor this week and that it has been sent out, which was correct. At no time did they obtain any information from me. It was a legit call.

I just received a call from this number. He stated he was with Medco which is now express scripts. He wanted me to verify my address and DOB. He stated he wanted to give me information to save money on my meds. After reading these posts I did not feel comfortable giving my information. I will call  Medco on the phone # that I know is legit.

So,I just called Medco @ the number I know is legit. They do not have any record of them calling me. I would not give out any information to this number. If you have Medco call them direct.
