I agree.  This number is valid, and the phone display shows "Washington".   Caller was from Congressman Shuster's office.  He just needed some basic info. about our company.

This call is from the House of Representatives... I had contacted them a while back for some information and the gentleman called me back today, and couldn't hear me.  At first I thought it was a crank call, so I looked up the number in a few different places.  He called back a few minutes later and we had a good chat.  If you contact your congressman, like as not, this will be the number or one of the numbers that will show up on your caller ID.  Not a big deal. As far as I know, they are not into crank calling.

i got a call to day and answered the phone, noone said aything.  i called back it said a none working number.  that's why i did the search and it seems like it's happening everywhere.

got a call from that number missed the call, they didn't leave a message so I tried to call it back it said this isn't a working number.

No message. I've been getting a rash of prank calls on my landline for the past few days. One of them was Sirius radio.

From the following area codes: 302, 202, 758, etc, etc.

I will NEVER answer my phone before I check Caller I.D..

Screw the pranksters. Fun to know I'm wasting their time when their BS goes to voice mail.

202-226-9928 appears to be a generic number for outgoing calls from Congressmen.  I received a call today, 6-10-13, from a rep for Cong Steve Womack, (R), 3rd Dist, Arkansas.  This call was in response to an email I sent to the Cong last week.  The number appears to be legit.

This number belong to the switchboard of US Congress. Not a number to receive calls (so do not call), just to make calls out of building.  Confirmed.

This is the number to Congressman Julia Browing in DC.  She is the congresswoman for Ventura County, CA.  I had scheduled a Capital building tour and they wanted to reschedule my visit.  you must get clearance from your congressman to visit any National Monuments that require indoor visits.

Just today I got call from this number 9am and id said US Capit0l, I tried to pickup the call but they hung up and didn't leave a message

This is indeed from Washington DC and it was from my congressman's office Duncan Hunter...referring to a comment i made about the border security issues...so it is legit and if i had any other comments i could call back...This man's name was Jonathan from Hunters Office

I received a call from this number and answered it.  Two weeks prior to receiving the call, I wrote a letter to my Congressman.  The call was from a person working in the Congressman's office calling to discuss my comments.

I get a phone call from this number no message and when I try to return a call says its a non working number at the United States House of Representative.
