I just got the call as well...stating it was IRS and that I was being sued....blah blah blah.  I just hung up, knowing that is was a BS scam, and BLOCKED the number

I just got the same call. Didn't say they were the IRS just said to call the number about the lawsuit against me. Scam.

Received a robocall saying I was being sued by the IRS.  Scammers.

I had the same situation. They have called me about 3 times and leave a message saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. I tried to call the number back and it just rang, no voicemail or answer.  Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Name comes up as Emilio Herrera and is a recording saying the IRS is opening a lawsuit against me so I should hurry and call.

Three calls from this number the past couple of days, but it goes to a fax machine. LOL

Got a call stating I was being sued by the IRS. My called id had the name Emilio Herrera

The message said that the IRS was filing a claim against "you" and that it was necessary to call. There was no specific name or company name being addressed... Just "you". I called and a foreigner answered & said he was with the irs. Asked me my name and put me on hold. Came back and gave me my address (a. PO box) and started reading his spill about Section 101 and said I have unpaid miscalculated errors from my 2009-2012 tax returns in the amount of $5000 plus. Then gave me two options for handling this debt. I told him I was not paying anything without some paper work or proof. He immediately went off on me because I told him he was a hoax. He said h would be sending the police to pick me up and the fines would be over $17K... He rattled off more in his foreign accent and said again the cops would come arrest me in 25 minutes (at my post office I assume??)  he would not let me talk at all and then he hung up on me! A few minutes later I called back ... To the IRS ... And the same foreign man answers! What are those odds?

Mine came in as coming from Egypt......certainly a scam.

Office line similar to what everyone is saying. Robocall, no real info, pay my (absurd) taxes every year. Ridiculous.

I just got this one today. Same number and left a robomessage to call them since I am being sued by IRS.

Same story as others reported here. Received called on my (Federal) work cell phone with computerized voice saying that IRS was suing me and that I had to call this number. Hang up, did not call number, and googled number to be directed to this website. Thank you to others for reporting scam as well.

What kind of foreign accent: spanish, russian, indian, israeli? Also, are you saying that you called back the actual IRS (i.e., from official website phone number), and got the same guy that answered the 202-247-1239 number??  ... that would be really weird.

Person with an extremely thick accent called from this number telling my husband we owed money from 2012 and that we had to pay immediately. They had convincing details pertaining to our address considering they called our cell phone. When I refused to let my husband pay the bill and looked up the number I found the details from other people. When I insisted that my husband get further confirmation and verification of the caller's affiliations, the caller started quoting the things everyone else said the caller was telling them about the police coming to arrest them and us getting sued, etc. Eventually after the person started to try and tell him the police would arrest him the caller got upset and hung up on my husband.

Got 2 calls today from this number - robo calls, saying they were the IRS and that I was being sued.  Said needed to call them back.

Just received 2 calls this morning from 202-247-1239 & 202-250-9847 claiming IRS agents. They are scammers. Do not answer their calls or otherwise give personal info. I am reporting to FCC and maybe my  congressman. Used to work for Social Security & worked IRS frequently. They never communicate in this manner!

Same automated call as everyone else. Called twice so far today. So glad I found out it's a scam (as I thought). Have already filed a report against them with the IRS.

Calls and tells me there is a case file on me and to call immediately. They left voice mail on my cell

I also received a female voice robocall from this number - well, maybe it was from Egypt, too, but the message said it was from this 202 number - and "she" said I was being sued by the IRS. I appreciate so much that so many people complained here and want to confirm that we had the same experience. Indeed, the IRS would contact one first by letter and certainly not start the dispute by suing. When I called the number, there was no answer.
