wow thats crazy, I just got the same call with a slightly different number, saying the same thing, lol wow...

These people called me, a man named Roger Smith and he told me I was approved for a $1500 loan.  He talked to me about western union but I told him I did not use them.  He said I was approved and I would received my loan in 5-7 days.  Now what?  Let me know how to report this scam.

It happened to me too. I needed money for an emergency and thought this wwas a good thing. I got a call saying i had been approved but there were problems with my bank and they would wire the money western union. My mother checked it out before we did this as she thought it was a scam and she found these reports. Thank you for listing them as I am on Social Security disability and I can not afford to lose any moey. I hope they catch these people.

I got a call from Roger Smith saying I have been approved for a loan of $1500.00 and his company name was Cash Advance Loan Department and then went over a few things with me and said to call back in 10 minutes and talk with Robert Williams at 1-202-379-1867 and they were going to deposit the funds of $1500.00 into my checking account and then a third call and said they are having difficulties and that I would have to go to the nearest Western Union and wire $190.00 to them but say it is a friend because Western Union would charge me 27 1/2% to get my money, to be sure and call him when I got there and he would help me out to get the money also the $190.00 was refundable and I would get an extra $60.00 for all the inconvenience so I would get wired to me the $1500.00, plus the $190.00 and $60.00 for the troubles totaling of $1750 coming back to me and my loan was for 7 1/2 % and payment was spread out over 12 months. The address was at 200 Independent Ave. SW, Washington, D.C. 20201 and they are in a government building on the 5th floor I goggled it all first and after reading all the rest I decided not to do it either.

This just happen to me 5 mins ago yes they need to be stopped

thanks for all your posts, I also got a call from a so called chris matthews with a middle east accent. The same address 200 independent st hhh washington dc 20201. the new phone number is 202-380-3449. I always check any business. Had a feeling this was a scam.

Please do not fall for any of this a man call me from a 202-683-9904 said his name was Mr Rant  said the Government had approve me for a grant for 8,000 dollar but i needed to pay a small fee of 230dollar and the money would be on my card in no longer than 30minutes but since i didn't trust him like that i gave him a prepaid card with no money on it... lol I'm glad i did, because when i check my card i didn't have any money. So i call back the next morning he told me to call the bank at 202-657-6268 and ask for Erick Neman, so i did and believe it or not he sound just like the last guy, he told me now before i get my money i need to pay a fee of 378 dollar. So that when i told him i'm going to pray for him because what he is doing is very wrong taking other people money. I told him God is going to get him for what he is doing and his respond was F you B you want to suck my you know what let me lick your P. I said God is going to get you for what your doing God bless you and have a bless day and he was still talking nasty so i hung up the phone. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

They tried to pull the $175 out of our account, but we're flat broke. We didnt know they were trying to take out the money, though. We asked them if we had to front them any money to get the loan and they said no. Then they told us "due to technical difficulty on our end we cant wire the money to your account. We need you to go to Western Union to get it." When we got there, they told my husband he needed to give them $175. When my husband said he didnt have it, they told him "well if you dont have $175 then we dont think you will be able to come up with the money to pay back the loan." Only after reading other posts complaining about this "company" did we realize they probably tried to take the money out of our account and when they couldnt they tried to get it via the western union. TOTAL SCAM!!!

Have been dealing with these brainless idiots for about 3 days now. Finally yesterday I took my investigation a bit further and called the Texas Consumer Protection Agency. The lady told me to to put a fraud alert on my credit report through trans union and it would show up on the other 2 agencies as well.Ricky foster is the one that called me. I was actually able to reach him yesterday on 202-380-3449.He gave me this story about technical difficulties and being in a meeting with his manager etc etc.. said the money couldnt be put into my account  which by the way,, the information they had is for an account now gold visa that was recently activated and has a $0 balance. I questioned this guy as to the difficulties, he became very irrate and abusive. I ask for a tracking number KNOWING that it was a scam, he said he would call me back within the hour with that information. Then I dropped the bomb, informed him that he had been turned into the attorny general, consumer protection agency both in Texas and in washington. he really got pissed them. started yelling and screaming at me, said if you dont want the money we dont have to do this, I laughed , that really made him mad, I was like , hey i could use an extra $1,500.00. Here is the thing. Do NOT apply for a payday loan or anything of that nature online EVER unless you are talking directly with the lender/origionator of the loan. KNOW your rights, these idiots are working with another group that sound like foreigners that will call you saying yo have multiple outstanding pay day loans, they are working out of large phone rooms and some of the numbers if you call them back, are unassigned magic jack numbers. Stand your ground,, Report these people, keep a log of names, numbers and times of calls as well as dates, make notes as to what was said. These [***] have to be stopped. go to www.ic3.gov this is the fbi website, go to press room, its the 2nd  or 3rd article, read this. These people have ways of getting your information, i had not even applied for a payday loan and they have my social security number , address, phone number. .file as many reports as you can and lets shut this trash down. Call your bank and tell them what is going on, have them freeze your account until you can get in there to add safety features or have your account number changed will probably be your best bet. These people are dangerous, They are no better than terrorists and sometimes Its questionable as to if they are actually in the us. This reeks of nigerian scams, have seen some reports saying this is actually out of pakistan. All i know is several have reported this being traced back to the same address i got in washington dc.

I got a call from them too & all together I westen uion them $400 that westen said I can't get back .i needed that money 2 keep my aptment & now I don't know what 2 do .

I had the same thing happen but different number 202-379-1935. Received the same calls from John Paul and Mark Williams. Was told to go to the Western Union. Once I refused thats when it got ugly. They had my information I think it was retrieved from another loan company. I constantly called this number back 202-379-1935 constantly speaking with a John Paul. He refused to transfer my call and would not let me speak to anyone else. He advised that the loan would not be cancelled and they would retriev funds from my acct. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and local authorities for this scam!

I received a call today (6/11/12) from a guy name Roger.  Immediately to me,  it didn't sound right to me. There was no professionalism in his voice. He informed me that I had been approved for a$2000.00 loan and he needed to verify some informaton with me. He proceeded to ask me questions such as my name, address, date of birth, etc.. Then he asked me for my bank information. This is when I felt like it was a scam. So, I turned the question/answer session around and asked him the questions. He had already informed me that he had all my information sitting in front of him. I told him I wasn't comfortable giving him my bank information. I asked him to tell me the name of my bank. He said his job title doesn't allow him to give out any information.. I forced it out of him anyway. He said my banks name was Wells Fargo. WRONG ANSWER!  I told him I had never banked with Wells Fargo. He immediately hung up on me.                                                    His name was Roger Smith, Payday Loan, 200 Independent Ave, S.W. Washington DC 20201, (202) 821-4810.

i got a call today from rodger smith about me getting a loan for 1200 an they was having problems depositing the money into my account an i needed to go to westerin union an give them 180 dollars an i would get that back plus another 100 that my total would be 1480 back an it would take 20 mins to get my money heres the address he gave me 200 independence ave  sw washington dc 20201 an the number is 202 821 4810 yea im not falling for that i got a payday loan b4 an the never had a problem putting money into my account an when did we get a bunch of india ppl working in these places

got a call an hour ago stating i had been approved for a loan of 3000. Gave me the same address and a phone no of 706 250 8340 tried calling no was no good i too didnt trust giving out my account info so i chose western union .I guess that killed their scam . And youre certainly right have had over 50 calls in the past week from different people claiming i submitted an app for a loan . Fill out 1 app and they crawl out of the woodwork all foreigners. How stupid do they think people are but i guess they pray on people who really need the employment. Just have to be wise when it comes to those traanactions and we were thanks a bunch. Mike W

same number called me guys name was RON SCOTT.....i was approved for 2000 and told me to send them 190 dollars to get the money in cash at western union....so i told him hang on i have to transfer money to my checkings.....but i didnt....then i called him back and John Paul answers.....and i gaved him a fake checking account number.....and i call him Ron...and he answers to it....and i asked him i thought your name was Paul and he hangs up......
