WHY THE PASSWORD TALK TO MI BY CALLING

Listed a set of weights on Craigslist and within minutes got a text from an 806 area code
( we are 808 and at first glance thought the text was from 808) the text said “ I am interested in your weights is now a good time to call?” We replied “yes” within seconds a call came in from this 202 area code number. I answered and a recorded voice came on and I hung up. Not even thinking the text and call were connected since the area codes were different. Then another text came from the original 806 number telling me that they were calling and we needed to answer and put in a 2 digit code of 66. ???? What the heck!!! Of course we didn’t do it. A simple Craigslist add would NEVER require all this crap. Then seconds later they called again from the 202 area code. I blocked the call. Then immediately got another text from a different 806 area code with a request to email someone if the weights were still available. SERIOUSLY THESE SCAMMERS NEED TO BE STOPPED! If they only could show up at my door. My husband is selling 460lbs of Olympic weights! Do they have any idea what that is?? My husband is crazy strong! He will squish you like the dirty nasty crud that you scammers are. We aren’t stupid to fall for this but what about older folk who don’t realize that there are such EVIL jerks out there. Everyday I see scams on Craigslist and OfferUp. Why can’t they be stopped!! Jailed, punish, prosecuted? I truly despise these scum of the earth filth.

Is this another type of scam? Have an ad on Craig's list, someone called and said they would connect with Google voice and gave a code number, then this number called put in code they wanted more information, sounds like a phishing expedition, is it??

They called me from Washington DC and I live in Britain wtf

received a call on my cell 202 455 8888.     I was then to press 67.      I hung up and blocked that caller!!1

I got a call from them but originally a text from this person(different number) inquiring about wanting to buy an item I had on CL.  I believe this is a scam.  Continued to get text messages from 7852518266 wanting to buy items(different items) wanting to know if they could call me now.  I said "sure" and that's when I got calls from this DC Number.  Scammers!

202-455-8888 has called me three times right in a row...I cannot answer my phone at work and when they leave a message it is always a six digit code and goodbye....I have blocked the number.

I get calls back to back from this number, they claim, they are google and instruct you to put in a two digit code, don't do it, this is an attempt to get access to your phone, which could lead to identity theft. I doubt if Google would call your home at 10:45 pm and 11:00pm

I posted an item for sale on Craigslist and was immediately texted by number 225-289-5482 which is a scam number.  Person wanted to talk to me, but when the call came in via 202-455-8888.  And since I let it roll over to voicemail, the person texted me and wanted me to enter a 2-digit access code.  Not happening.

It's just Google's YouTube verification. If your getting a call and haven't tried to verify YouTube than someone else has accidentally typed in your number in stead of their own. Which is going to suck when you want to verify your own account.
